Froggy Goes to School12 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 1998

Froggy Goes to School
Froggy goes to School is about a young frog who goes to school for the first time. This book taught little kids not to be afraid to go to school and that school can be fun. The reading level is about 1st grade but is a good story to read to kids for a story time or bedtime. The book was funny and it was a joy to read and I hope every one has the chance to read this book in the future.

Froggy Gets Dressed18 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 1994

4 1/2 Reversive Recursive: Fun With Froggy
Another in the prolific Jonathan London's "Froggy" series, this book about the amphibious one is a recursive story about all the clothes you must wear on a snowy day--and all the clothes you must take off (in the reverse order) when you forget to put some on. In this Froggy tale, our green hero wakes up with incredible enthusiasm--it's like he was raised on caffeine--and he just CANNOT wait to ...

Froggy Learns to Swim5 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 1997

Froggy & skills mastery
I agree with the other reviews that this book is especially splendid in it's illustrations, text and message. Like many young children, Froggy is fearful of the water (and, presumably, other new experiences). However, by taking it at his own pace, and with the encouragement of his mother, he soon masters his skills at swimming (anyone who has or works with young children will empathize with ...

Froggy Eats Out15 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 2003

Be Still, Be Quiet!
Froggy's hungry and all he can think about is hamburgers and flies. But since it's his parents anniversary, he has to get dressed up and have dinner at some fancy resturant. At these places, you have to remember to keep quiet, be still and not put your feet on the table. A very hard thing to do for a young frog. Froggy tries his hardest, but things just don't go as planned. Find out all the ...

Froggy's Halloween8 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 2001

Froggy's Halloween is rated number one
Our first grade class rated all of Jonathon London's Froggy books. Froggy's Halloween was rated the favorite Jonathon London book. Jonathon London has made reluctant readers excited about reading. Kids love watching Froggy get into trouble.

GREAT BOOK
My son loves all of the Froggy books. They are all well written and easy to read for beginning readers. Funny storyline.

Froggy Goes to the Doctor9 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 2004

My Boys Love This Book!
The first time we read this book, my four-year-old twin boys were rolling on the floor laughing hysterically! They loved it when Froggy's mom made him the underwear that looked like a diaper. Equally funny was when Froggy fell off the bench, grossed out the doctor with his bad breath, and accidentally knocked her down when she checked his reflexes. My twins ask for this highly entertaining book ...

Froggy's Best Christmas5 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 2002

Froggy Wishes...Merry Christmas to All
Poor Froggy, he sleeps all winter and has never been able to celebrate Christmas. But this year, his friend Max the beaver has other plans. He wakes Froggy up from his long winter nap to not only wish him a Merry Christmas, but to give him his first Christmas present ever...a Christmas tree. Froggy and Max hurry to wake up Matthew, the turtle and Travis, the bear from their winter hibernations ...

Let's Go, Froggy!5 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 1996

A wonderful book for any young child!
This book has become my 2 and 4 year olds favorite story. They love to see froggy looking for his misplaced items and it has taught them to look for their own items when they are lost.

Dream Weaver2 reviews
Jonathan London

Silver Whistle, 1998

Excellent book for toddlers and young children!
This book is about the life of a spider from the point of view of a young boy. The illustrations are vivid and the text is like a young boys handwriting to add to the overall "vibe". Our son is fascinated with bugs (including spiders) and this has become one of his favourites. Everytime we read it, he goes on the journey with the young boy as he watches the spider and follows it through weaving a ...

Froggy Goes to Bed14 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 2002

PLEASE don't take it so seriously
I have to disagree with the reviewers who consider this a manual for bad behavior. Yeah, I'd never let my kid get away with the stuff Froggy seems to, but that's precisely why the kids find it funny! My almost-two-year-old gets a BIG kick out of saying "FFRRROOOGGGYY" along with me, and "I found it!" is a chorus of triumph. As for teaching the child delaying tactics, well, my son has been trying ...

Giving Thanks3 reviews
Jonathan London

Candlewick, 2005

A beautiful book about being thankful for nature
The book teaches children to be thankful to animals, and inanimate objects of nature. True. And it's lovely. The illustrations are beautiful. A father and son take a walk through the woods near their house, and the father teaches his son to be thankful for all the things in nature that they see. At the end, the son even says, "To me, it's a little embarrassing to say thanks to trees and ...

Puddles1 review
Jonathan London

Puffin, 1999

It's So Fun to Play Outside After it RAINS!!!!!
My daughter (22 months) LOVES this book! It tells of the adventures of two childern who go outside to explore (and puddle jump, of course) after a night of thunder, lightening, and RAIN! My daugher brings this book to myself or my husband all the time and says "read Puddles". It's a must have in your collection.

The Lion Who Had Asthma7 reviews
Jonathan London

Albert Whitman & Company, 1997

Really helped my 2.5 year old deal with his asthma
My son is 2.5 and recently diagnosed with reactive airway disease. He really enjoys this book, and it has helped us talk to him about his breathing. Sometimes we ask him if he feels like the lion or if the lion is scared. It also seems to help when he doesn't want to use his nebulizer.

Froggy Rides a Bike (Froggy)1 review
Jonathan London, Frank Remkiewicz

Puffin, 2008

My son has a new favorite
Froggy is a good character for my son to identify with. My son is almost 4 and thinks Froggy is the coolest. When i ask him what he wants for breakfast, he now wants "a bowl of flies" just like Froggy has. For him, it's Raisin Bran. I have now 6 Froggy books to our collection and a bunch more are available at our library so this author has definately got an audience.

Froggy's Baby Sister4 reviews
Jonathan London

Puffin, 2005

Another Great Froggy Book
My children enjoy the Froggy books and my husband and I are always happy when we come across a new one. This book is another great Froggy book. It is a light read that is a feel good read too! My daughter could easily relate to how hard it was to wait for her baby brother to be old enough to play with so understood Froggy's feelings. As for Froggy wanting a brother and getting a sister, it ...

Froggy Plays T-ball (Froggy)1 review
Jonathan London

Viking Juvenile, 2007

Froggy does it again
I have read several of the Froggy books to my [...]. He has played t-ball this spring for the first time and I purchased this book as a special surprise before his season started. He loved it and he and his father read it almost every night.

The Iron Heel (Penguin Classics)7 reviews
Jack London

Penguin Classics, 2006

gripping
One part socialist dogma, one part muckraking expose and one part thrilling drama, The Iron Heel was and is dynamite. Much is made of London's predictions about fascism, and the book does seem to predict the actions of the Nazi's in the Reichstag fire affair, but in truth, the notion of fascism as the successor to liberal capitalism is a standard Marxist historical analysis. Nevertheless, the ...
