Sex Signs15 reviews
Judith Bennett

St Martins Pr, 1981

Must read!
This book is so good I have already brought 4 copies for various friends and relatives! It is so accurate that my sister swear it is a woman's bible to understanding herself. It is truly a interesting read and I read it every 4 to 5 months to reinforce my own understanding about myself. Read it if you are open minded.

Dracula in London11 reviews

Ace Trade, 2001

16 stories made JUST for this collection...
I am a vampire fan and when I found out about this book I have to get it. With such authors as Tanya Huff, Fred Saberhagen, P.N. Elrod and K.B. Bogen, this book is full of great works of the craft. Filled with humor and horror, it has something for anybody. And if you like somebody's work you can always use the information in the back of the book to find their other works. A must for any ...

Medieval Europe1 review
C.Warren Hollister, Judith Bennett

McGraw Hill Higher Education, 2005

An especially well-balanced view of the middle ages in Europe
The first edition came out in 1964, and has become a franchise in the American texts on the subject, now carried forward by a younger historian, J. Bennett. Hollister wrote the first few editions alone, writing clearly and making narrative sense out of the confusion of centuries, peoples, without an overload of academic quarrels, so it is a good book for interested readers who are NOT taking a ...

A Medieval Life: Cecilia Penifader of Brigstock, c. 1297-13448 reviews
Judith Bennett

McGraw-Hill Humanities/Social Sciences/Languages, 1998

An Excellent Primer for Medieval History
I recently read this book for a history class and have to say that the book is very enjoyable. It's brevity and clarity make it a great introduction to medieval history. Cecilia Penifader was a well-to-do peasant woman living in Brigstock, England in the early 14th century. Bennett uses Cecilia to introduce the reader to all aspects of peasant life in this time period. There are in-depth studies ...

Notorious And Noble (Zebra Regency Romance)5 reviews
Janice Bennett, Judith A. Lansdowne

Zebra, 1999

Good, but short.
Although I enjoy a light read, I also enjoy a thick book. Thus, I usually stear clear of anthologies. But, I read this because I love Judith Lansdowne's books, and I actually only read hers. This one didn't disappoint. A handsome rogue with the soul of an artist and a woman who's the only one to see it. A great story, a great romance, I just wish it had been longer.

Ale, Beer, and Brewsters in England: Women's Work in a Changing World1 review
Judith M. Bennett

Oxford University Press, USA, 1999

Chock full of information
I've been researching beer & brewing and this book was a great look at the time when the business changed from a largely female run, household-based, business, to a guild-organized, male-dominated business. I had no idea how the Black Death contributed to this change. A fascinating book!

Medieval Europe: A Short History23 reviews
C. Warren Hollister, Judith Bennett

McGraw-Hill, 2001

Great Short History
This book is a great overview of medieval Europe. It is packed with information and is a dense read, but worth it.
