Excellent book for girls
This book is visually so colorful and the patterns are well chosen for this age group. It's a great way for young girls to get started knitting. There are good, basic instructions that teach you how to knit, and patterns that are fun to knit! Plus, it's just great to look at. There is a little cartoon character throughout the book that is dressed in the pattern as well. Just adorable.

Great Patterns
As a beginner knitter, I like the patterns in the book because they are easy, pretty and varied. I was ready to move on past scarves. There are a few purses, tops and little sweaters. I especially like the cast on technique for the Chenille Bag and Belt, cool! It makes the assembly so much easier. The yarn weight listed is helpful if you want to substitute yarns but the book includes a suggested ...

Fabulous!
I was given this book as a gift from a close friend after mentioning I'd like to start knitting. I've referenced many knitting books to guide me but have often found inspiration in this particular one. There are basic instructions both for learning how to knit and numerous different stitches, as well as pictures. This book is an excellent reference for almost any piece of knitting and I enjoy ...

Superb!
I consider myself an intermediate since I started with Clive Stevens' Fun with Paper Sculpture--I didn't really learn much more than I already knew. However, this book is suitable for anyone from a rank beginner to polished professional. I picked up some new techniques and discovered new types of paper and paints to use in my work. I've gotten the most use from the artist galleries beacuse they ...

If you think knits for kids tend to all look alike, you may be right: fix the problem with Yummy Yarns Knits For Kids
There are plenty of children's knitting books on the market already: books that tell how to knit clothing for kids - what makes this one so special is its focus on fun kids' fashions made with novelty yarns. Yes, there are the usual scarves, ponchos, and mittens - but each has a touch of something exotic or different, from a sparkly Hawaiian crop top made of 'ribbon yarn' to jeweled hot pink ...

Great book
This is a overlooked book, not to many know of it.But it's great. It does not give you any tips or tricks, but it nice to look at. Most of the stuff is done in Photoshop and it's a great book for photographers, since it shows a lot of extreme (worked on) photos. The overall tone of most of these pieces are 'dark' and they are artpieces, not ads.

Motion Graphics have never looked better
I have to say that this book really shows off the best and worst motion graphics in year 2002. I was pleased to see that there are really beautiful images contrasted with pleanty of horidly bad designs. Dont be surprised to see that glass logos are rampent and the use of photoshop filters are dominant, as well as some amazing 3d rendering and excellent type designs. It is a great reference to ...

Even better than the first one!
I'm repeating my review of the first book since my opinion is much the same. I will add that there is contact information for the featured artists and information about a contest for 3Demensional illustrators! -- I consider myself an intermediate since I started with Clive Stevens' Fun with Paper Sculpture--I didn't really learn much more than I already knew. However, this book is suitable for ...

Web Type is a Knock-Out (Editor's Choice)
This book was selected as our Editor's Choice for March 2002 for several reasons... First, it's a masterpiece of visual delights -- each of the fonts reviewed includes the font in creative use, actual publications where they have appeared, or simply a creative expression. Most importantly, the book contains full descriptions, foundry, author/artist and details about the font. Then the second half ...
