FOREVER AMBER (still awesome after all these years!)
I read this book when I was in high school back in the 60's. I recently bought another copy of it to give to a wonderful student I now have in class whose name is Amber. She's a bright, intelligent girl with a lot of spunk who made me remember the novel of my long ago days as a teenager. At last report, she was devouring it as the beginning of summer vacation has arrived. What a fabulous ...

Loved It!
Very different read. If you enjoy light romance this is not for you. If you enjoy a "dark" twist on the typical love story you will love this one. Very creative - very different. Kathleen Winsor should be writing now - she would top the charts. Just a little before her time (1986).

Exciting
It's probably the sexest novel every written. There are three stories but only the first which is very long is worth reading. It's called 'On Roaring Mountain by Lemon Lake. It's about the devil and what he does with beautiful women who end up in hell after they die. Very sexy I promise. Oh and the devil is the most handsome man imaginable.

Excellent!
Wow! This was such a great book. It may be hard to find, but it is definitely worth it. I bought it after reading FOREVER AMBER also by Kathleen Winsor. This book is very in depth about the human psyche. It follows the lives of several people for about 20 years. It takes place during the second half of the 19th century in Montana and New York City. I learned so much about this time period as ...

The Romance Novel of all Romance Novels
I'm as big a fan of Kathleen Woodiwiss as anyone, but Kathleen Windsor had it all together way back in the forties. This story has everything you could ask for in a historical romance novel. Everything. Read. Be transported and enjoy. I've reread this book at least fifteen times, since the first time I read it at 12. Do NOT waste your time with that awful movie they made in the 50s. Just don't. ...

A classic novel!
Calais is my favourite all-time read! The story of Arlette Morgan and Anthony De Forest and the journey of their lives in a world of theatre and film. The quote on the back cover sums up what I percieved from this tale - "Apart they are superb, together they are sensational". I hope I got that the right way around from memory... I have read this book many times over the years and every time I ...

Best book I ever read!
I have to say that this is by far the BEST book that I have ever read in my life. If you are debating whether to buy it, don't even think twice about it. Trust me, you won't be sorry. I fell in love with Amber from the very beginning of the book. Her strength and determination to survive is inspiring. I did feel like slapping her when she begged Bruce Carlton for his love. Still, her love for ...

Leaves Stars in Your Eyes
This book is classifed as a romance, however Winsor does more than just give a tale of a woman and her lovers. She is a master at psychology, and reading about Shirleen and her adventures makes you feel like you are really in her place. The young woman writes a novel, which brings her fame, fortune and a lot of attention from men while her husband is off to war. It shows many sides to the ...

unforgettable
Jacintha was originally one of 3 novellas within The Lovers. The first and best, it was a Victorian dream of Hell seen through the eyes of a woman of quality of that era. Her most erotic fantasies are realized through the auspices of the Devil. She never learned in life what real lust could be, and how a woman can fall under its spell until right and wrong no longer have a meaning. I was in ...
