Murder by Magic: Twenty Tales of Crime and the Supernatural

one of the best consistent compilations of the year
This superb twenty collection anthology runs the mystery gamut but has the common thread as stated by Rosemary Edghill in her introduction that "a crime (preferably by murder), and magic and the supernatural had to be somehow involved". Each tale does that and though the format is short story, readers will believe in the use of magic albeit whether to commit a crime, solve a crime, or both. The ...

This book is Great!
I really liked this book. I thought it was better than the first one. I can really picture Ryan Gosling in this book and the author did a great job of bringing in parts from the Series. I love it and I love Ryan. Keep up the good work.

DeCandido hits back to back home runs
Brad R.A. DeCandido should write every novel focusing on Klingons from here on out. He not only incorporates characters from the televised Star Trek Series (TNG and DS9), but creates his own characters that are thoroughly Klingon and very intriging. I believe KRAD has a better feel for Klingons than any other Star Trek novelist. Captain Klag has just lost San Tarah though honorable combat ...

STNG #61 Diplomatic Implausibility - Exceptional!
"Diplomatic Implausibility" is author, Keith R.A. DeCandido's first full length novel in the Star Trek genre. From his work in the Star Trek S.C.E. (Starfleet Corps of Engineers) e-Book series one could tell that he was going to become a major influence in the Star Trek genre which has proven quite true given his breadth of work since this, his first outstanding Star Trek The Next Generation ...

Run, don't walk, to buy this book
Twist of Faith offers everything: *what a bargain! 660 pages of truly wonderful story-telling with enough action, variety, mysteries, and fun to give you hours of reading pleasure *a truly beautiful cover and binding. Not something I usually care about but the artwork on Twist of Faith is just fantastic. *Avatar, by S. D. Perry, is as rich and detailed a story as you will find in the ...

Good mystery
I have been waiting for this story for awhile and I was afraid I would be disappointed. I wasn't. It's a great story and like my title implies a good mystery. The cliffhanger is very good and makes you want to get the next story to see what happens. The story in a nutshell deals with Commander Gomez heading to a planet that is mostly chrystal. They have to get some important mineral out there ...

Most are Awesome.
I got this book 3 years ago, and every now and then I still go back to read it again. Some of the stories in here I could read forever, and apparently one author, Joanne Bertin, just came out with her first novel, based on the world in this book. Her story, "Dragonlord's Justice," is my favorite in this book, and can't wait to read her novel.

Pretty awsome!
This was an interesting book. Instead of all the flowery things ppl can say about the X-Men, there were real people who (for the most part) had some hand in the creation of the X-Men talking about what they thought about the X-Men as a whole. In one of the chapters a man tells of how when he was a young boy he got the first issue of the commic and loved it, but didn't see any more until he was ...

Excellent Farscape Fiction
Far, far superior to anything that I would have anticipated it could be. The characters were essentially seamlessly drawn without any manner of betrayal to the characters as they were written in the television series or the actors who ultimately breathed life into them.

A Good Day to Die
This is the first book in a series about the Klingons, almost no characters from the original series make appearances, this is wholly new and original. It takes place right after the Dominion war, and the Klingons need more resources and need to expand. Of course they are not explorers like the Federation, they will go and conquer what they need. But this is where this particular story line ...

MAKE MINE KLINGON, PLEASE!
This recent book is a follow-up of sorts or an addition to I.K.S. Gorkon series of books: A Good Day To Die (2003), Honor Bound (2003), and Enemy Territory (2005) by the same author. Most would know that, but some may not. Early STAR TREK: maybe producers felt these strange, rough, people just kept "clinging on" so the Klingons became permanent residents. Their dress and portrayal was very ...
Articles of the Federation

Star Trek, 2005
Gonna have to disagree with accusations of American chauvanism...
"Articles of the Federation" is a very good book -- it's my second-favorite Trek novel, after "Spock's World." It's not without its flaws -- several plotlines mirror plots from "The West Wing" a little too closely for my tastes, and I find some of the novel's assumptions about separation of powers a lit irritating. But the accusations that it's chauvanistically American seem off-base to me. ...
Mission Gamma Book One: Twilight

the best I've read so far
Upto this point, mission Gamma part 1 is this best I've read in the relaunch series. Although like the series in general, this book is mostly character driven, it still has all of the elements of a good sci fi novel. Stumbling upon strange new worlds and beings, making new discoveries and learning of infinite possibilities beyond the realm of what we experience every day is the stuff of good ...
