Sacred and the Profane
Klein's eye for beauty and diversity shows through in this eclectic collection of cross-like images from every walk of life. Telephone poles, ornate crucifixes, and yes, human nudes display one of the most profound and most ignored symbols of our century. If you have a spiritual hunger, an interest in art, and a mind open to possibility, get this wonderful collection for your coffee table and ...

A shame the pictures are all so dark.. doesn't compare to 1st edition.
I was excited to see this has been reissued, as the first edition copies cost several hundred dollars. Well I can see now why the 1st edition continues to bring top dollar. If you get a chance to see the pictures in the 1st edition and compare to this one, you will be highly disappointed. Pictures which were bright and cheery, turned out gloomy and look like they were taken at night with poor ...

Like an orange...
Im not an advaced programmer, but reading some parts... I learned a lot of good things. I couldnt describe them here, but i will implement them on the future projects ahead. Things that I think are essential to the industry grade programmer and to becoming one. The material was delivered clearly, not necessarily simple... but it is clear. The book is worth all my hard saved money... and im glad ...

Good, but a few glitches
Basically, a well-written crime novel. Some proverbial red flags, however, were districting as I listened on audio: (1) Protagonist Liz, the free-lance writer, finishes typing out the last page ON HER TYPEWRITER! This is the 90s; no one uses a typewriter anymore; plus she'd e-mail or fax her manuscripts, not snail-mail them. (2) The two reporters FROM DIFFERENT NEWSPAPERS worked together in ...

College Prowler
, 2006
Amherst College Students Tell It Like It Is Amherst Urban Legends Amherst has such a large endowment that it can afford to purchase absolutely anything for its students. That the rivalry between Amherst and Williams Colleges actually stems from genuine reasons, and not from manufactured and made up ones. That the hardest thing about Amherst is getting admitted. Once that's accomplished, it's easy to get high grades because of the massive ...
Horse

Rizzoli
, 2008
Powerful, beautiful, wild, fragile, and elegant, horses are as diverse and as enigmatic as people. This oversized luxuriously illustrated book, designed by Sam Shahid, is a celebration of the physical beauty of the animal, of what horses can do, and the sense of wonder and awe that the horse evokes. A competitive amateur show-jumper since childhood, Kelly Klein is a highly respected horsewoman, as well as a renowned fashion stylist. In this ...

out of the darkness
I really like an author with a sense of humor and Susan Kelly gave me some good laughs. She also gave me a good dose of frustration, because I couldn't think faster than her sleuths. "Out of the Darkness" wasn't predictable; the first sign of a good mystery. I enjoyed getting to know her characters and their mannerisms, theories and bungles. All in all, a good read.
