Excellent reference book
It took a long time for decent BizTalk Server books to start appearing, and those of us who have been committed to the product for some time know the pain (and fun) of having to work out, for ourselves, how this product works, how best to apply it to real-life scenarios and how to exploit its rich functionality. I was really impressed with this book. It has two characteristics which I think ...

Not that bad.
This book was written by my political science professor at Texas A&M. During lecture he would be a little more one-sided, but this book is very neutral and demostrates facts very clearly. Bond has a particular affinity for graphs and being long-winded. However, he does use some good examples to illustrate his point. All in all, the book is not that bad.

Impenetrable is right!
I read this book for a public administration graduate class. I do not have a background in political science, so perhaps the book was more difficult for me than for others. The previous reviewer used the word "impenetrable." I found about half the chapters were exceedingly difficult for me to follow and several really were impenetrable. I did, however, learn quite a bit from it, and I even ...

Top notch guide to marine plankton and invertebrate larvae
This book, following on the heels of DeBoyd Smith's 1st edition, presents a good selection of line drawings and information about the diversity of more common marine plankton and invertebrate larvae. While no guide to this group of organisms can really hope to be exhaustive in its coverage, this book presents a good overview of the kinds of organisms that are floating around out there. ...

Great for a textbook
Less dry and harsh than most texts books. Not a bad read, full of good, unbiased info, and presents imporatant info well. The text is presented in a way that makes since and the fluff really only backs up the main points well rather than adding so much to the mix its hard to understand. However, as good as it is, its still a text book!!

The personalized history of the greatest generation.
Glenn Davis' lifetime encompassed the defining events of the century: Depression, WW II, Vietnam, and Watergate. His biography is like a Greek tragedy. He rises from a poor rural background through brains, work, and personality. He succeeds in Depression, faces terror in the naval war in the Pacific, enters the Congress after the war, rises near the summit with Nixon and Ford, and falls ...
The Biology of Political Behavior (The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science Series)
Sage Publications, Inc
, 2007
Does testable, replicable empirical evidence exist to support the notion that biology can help explain political behavior? The past practice of political science has been to ignore the growing biological knowledge base. Perhaps because mass-scale politics seem so cerebral and rational, scholars of politics are prone to conclude that it somehow transcends biology. Not true. This fascinating issue of The ANNALS draws on the recent advancements ...

Good resource, very relevant to problem solving
This book is full of valuable information, and something that I believe I can use for my team of Java developers on our projects. I have enjoyed this entire book, but here are my comments on a few of my favorite "articles" from this book. #1 - When Runtime.exec() won't. An excellent 13 page discussion of how things can go wrong with the famous Runtime.exec(). There are so many ways to mess up ...
