A good conclusion to Hope's story.

Her older brother Ethan has finally returned home, but their house in Philadelphia is still occupied by British soldiers, and her father is still away fighting for the Patriots. Hope can no longer even see her best friend, Polly, because Polly's parents are Loyalists. Things become even worse when the ...

Hope Springs Eternal (Prairie River #4)3 reviews
Kristiana Gregory

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2005

Hope springs eternal (Prairie River #4)
Hope Springs Eternal is another great addition to the Prairie River series. I feel like anyone who reads this book will be touched by the faith each of the characters have and how faith keeps them going even in the hardest of times. I am looking forward to the next book in this series to see what happens. The only bad part about this book is that it was too short.

Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie (Dear America)164 reviews
Kristiana Gregory

Live Oak Media, 2005

Wonderful
I love 'Oregon Trail' stories and this one was no exception. The story is stunningly written, and a careful line is trod between emphasizing the dangers and discomforts of the trail without making the story seem scary or unpleasant to the reader. My only real gripe about this book (and not even a big enough gripe to drop a star, so take it for the whining that it is) is that the adult ...

Earthquake at Dawn
Kristiana Gregory really brings out Edith Irvine as a devoted photographer. Even in the midst of all the turmoil, she snaps 60 photos, possibly more! In this true-to-life novel, the famous San Francisco earthquake takes place, however, the quake is not the worst that happens! The fire that the quake created was. It lasted three days and killed an estimated five to ten thousand people. The mayor ...

Eleanor: Crown Jewel of Aquitaine39 reviews
Kristiana Gregory

Scholastic Inc., 2002

Eleanor: Crown Jewel of Aquitaine
THIS BOOK, in MY OPINION, was one of the best out of the "Royal Diaries" Series. Eleanor is not a princess, but a Duchess of Aquitaine (Southern France) in the 1100's. This book was well written and contained much information on Eleanor's teen years. Although the reading level is supossed to be ages 9-12, i am 13, almost 14, and enjoyed this book. I think it's good for all ages.

The Stowaway: A Tale of California Pirates3 reviews
Kristiana Gregory

Demco Media, 1997

Book for 4th Graders in California
This is a fabulous book for a 4th grade read. It's got pirates, history and facts. It is set in California in 1818 when Spain still ruled Alta California but Mexico was at war with Spain. The seat of government is Monterey and includes the missions. There are so many possible projects that can be done with this book I can't understand why it isn't a mandatory read for 4th grade curriculum.
