primer Anthology to group behavior
In the popular 1980s movie Back to the Future, the main characters go into the past to save the future. The Eighth Edition of Small Group Communication likewise draws on previous editions to produce a cutting-edge reader that should sustain the intellectual needs and pique the interest of today's students. As in the past, this anthology was to serve as a general reader. Therefore, the editors ...

The Text is Excellent.
I have taught with several of the major readers on the market: Samovar and Porter's, Nakayama and Martin, and others. This text has the most well written readings and contains articles on many seminal issues, context (Hall), time (Hall), etc. This text has the LEAST blatantly fluff filled articles intended only to titillate and pander to students. Additionally, if you review some of the other ...

Intercultural communication
This is a really boring book, it is hard to read. The first couple of chapters are over 50 pages long. Hardly any illustrations. The only thing I did like about it was all of the examples. Hopefully your instructor picks a more interesting book than this one.

Communication Between Cultures
The book is your prototypical college textbook, chock full of quotes, activities, and discussion ideas. It does a good job of organization and breaking the 300 pages book into four sections: Communication and Culture, The Influence of Culture, From Theory to Practice, knowledge into Action. I am currently using the book for a Graduate School class and view it is a good resource, better than ...

Exactly what I ordered
The book arrived in plenty of time for my class. It is in mint condition and the right edition. I saved greatly over what I would have spent from the bookstore.

An excellent book on cultures, values and how we communicate
This is an excellent book that begins with what culture is and how deeply ingrained cultural values are in us all. You will learn the different factors involved in the inculturation process and how the way we perceive and communicate in the world is shaped by the values we hold important. The book has plenty of examples of values many cultures consider important and how this effects their ...
