Good review
If your child needs to review vocabulary or if you are a homeschooler I recommend this series. We've used them and have been very pleased with the word groups and the lesson content. Sight Word Readers: Learning the First 50 Sight Words is a Snap! (Sight Word Readers)2 reviews
Linda Ward Beech

Scholastic, 2007

Sight Reader Books are wonderful
My twin 5 year old boys LOVE these books. I purchased them so that my boys could get a head start for Kindergarten and they just love the books. They are easy enough for them to read with some assistance and the sight words are great. I would certainly tell my friends to purchase this set.

240 Vocabulary Words 5th Grade Kids Need To Know3 reviews
Linda Ward Beech

Teaching Resources, 2003

a good resource, but too basic for grade 5
The vocabulary words on the cover include archipelago and medevac, but inside the book there are also many more rudimentary words. I'd be very concerned if my own kids didn't know the majority of these words before age ten. "Guidebook" and "masterpiece" are in the compound word section, "foul" and "fowl" in the homophone section, "thermometer" and "sympathy" under Greek. I do like the way that ...

Drawn to conclude: Great book
Written for the average 4th to 8th grader, this book offers 35 worksheets for students to learn test practice and quickly draw conclusions and inferences. Page illustrations are minimal, appropriate for students up through high school. The last few worksheets are for testing a student's written skills of mastery of the topic at hand. I would have liked to see a broader spectrum of reading ...
