Anyone who can't spell "its" correctly is not going to get my money. If you want to know about the American flag, I suggest you read Whitney Smith's "The Flag Book of the United States" (Morrow Paperback, 1975). When it comes to vexillology, Smith "wrote the book".

Jarringly beautiful
Besides my own copy, I have never seen another one of these books. It's a shame really, because this book combines information and illustration in the way only National Geographic can. The nine planets of our solar system make up the majority of text material here, which goes a long way in preserving the shelf life of this book. This book goes from Beginnings through the different planets of our solar system, to teh stars and galaxies of deep space and our future of shuttles an starships. It is a very thorough and colorful description of space.
