See it and Say it in Spanish1 review
Margarita Madrigal

Signet, 1961

learning spanish
i find this book as an excellent teaching tool to learn spanish. The Author has been around for quite a while teaching, and her method to my surprise is being used in private classes to teach beginners. Apparently her approach and method gets the subject going with positive results. you cang go wrong with Margarita Madrigals materials.

See It and Say It in French (See It and Say It)5 reviews

Message from Reluctant French Student...
I am a reluctant learner of the French language. I own so many books, CD's, cassettes, and videos on the French language--over $1,000 worth. I am under obligation (how did that happen?) to eventually learn French since I married a Swiss-French man. I am a serious reader and have a hard time fitting in this language study on the side of my more important reading. I have to comment on this book, ...

Madrigal's Magic Key to German
I have used this book and it is excellent! I was an absolute beginner at learning German and after completing this book, i knew all the basics and i started learning German more easily. There is a lot of repetition and good understandable excersizes to go through and learn...if you are an absolute beginner i definately recommend this book.

Really excellent! Probably the best there is and good price!
I bought this book this past weekend while meandering around a local big name bookstore, while looking at the Spanish language books i was so frustrated because of the high prices on almost every book in print! I stumbled upon this little gem and was quite surprised by its novelty...its definetly from the 60's, kinda old fashioned, very insignifigant looking and super inexpensive BUT it IS a ...

Open Door to Spanish: A Conversation Course for Beginners6 reviews
Margarita Madrigal

Regents Pub. Co, 1980

good beginning text
"Open Door to Spanish" is a good textbook for beginners, and is especially useful if your Spanish class is using it. If you buy a used copy, make sure it has the CD because it's a great way to check your pronunciation. The course covers Latin American Spanish and culture, not the accent from Spain. Overall, I was very pleased with this product.

See It and Say It in German6 reviews

Best Beginning German Book I've ever read out of hundreds!
Have lived in Germany and Austria several years. Used this book when I initially moved to Germany and literally was comfortable speaking after only 3 months! I recommend this to all my colleagues who travel abroad. Also, anybody who is serious about learning a language must realize that classroom instruction is very purposeful to get you in the right direction for both pronunciation and ...

See It and Say It in Italian (See It and Say It)13 reviews

A Delivered Promise
I've used many language help books but this one is my favorite. I felt like I could indeed self teach Italian. And when I went to Italy my cousins there did understand me (for the most part). It's a great book for slowly building to a conversational understanding of the language.

This Book Teaches The Student Which Words Are Similar In English And Spanish
"..... THIS BOOK TEACHES THE STUDENT WHICH WORDS ARE SIMILAR IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH and also shows him how to form Spanish words himself....." [from the book of the foreword by Margarita Madrigal]

Madrigal's magic key to French2 reviews

Great start to learning French
See the reviews for Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish; they all apply to this book. Too bad the book is out of print. I bought an out of print copy for $50.00 here on Amazon and it has been the single best entry level book I have used for learning French. Madrigal's Magic Key to French goes well with Michel Thomas or French in Action. Also check for Madrigal's book See It and Say It in French. ...

Madrigal's magic key to Spanish78 reviews
Margarita Madrigal

Doubleday, 1953

Opinion of Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish
This is an excellent book. Its approach to teaching a language is unique in that it gives fourteen patterns of Spanish words relating to English words. Rather than learning one word at a time, I can learn 50 - 100 words. I don't even have to learn individual words. I just have to remember the pattern, e.g. words ending in "ity" in English usually end in "idad" in Spanish. I also have been ...

Open Door to Spanish: A Conversation Course for Beginners, Book 2 (2nd Edition)1 review
Margarita Madrigal

Prentice Hall, 1994

Don J
This is a very good book for learning Conversational Spanish. It is being used in a class that I am taking, except the this edition is is not the most current. The changes in the editions are very minor.

Open Door to Spanish: A Conversation Course for Beginners, Book 1 (2nd Edition)1 review
Margarita Madrigal

Prentice Hall, 1994

An excellent book to begin with...
This book was the textbook for a continuing education course in Spanish that I was in. The book has clear definitions and explanations, as well as exercises to practice each new concept. The audio tape was especially helpful to review pronounciations away from class. However, only certain exercises in each section are on the audio tape. Although there are many books out there to help you ...

An Invitation to German1 review
Margarita Madrigal

Simon & Schuster (Paper), 1978

A good, not entirely old-fashioned approach to German
Margarita Madrigal has written or co-written a number of introductory language books, all premised on the idea that with some basic structures, good vocabulary associations and a dash of entertainment, you can learn a language. Invitation to German is not the most entertaining, the most challenging, or the most innovative introduction to German ever written. But it introduces some basic sentence ...
