Hooray for Reading Day! (Jessica Worries)26 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2008

A Fun Book for Children
I read this book last night to my 5 year old grandson who has just started kindergarten. He seemed to enjoy the book, smiling all through the reading, and then asking me to read it again after we finished. I think, just having started school, he related to little Jessica and her worries about reading, particularly in public. Since he is due to get a puppy soon, I think he also related to ...

That's Good! That's Bad! (An Owlet Book)9 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Henry Holt and Company, 1993

That's Good, That's Bad is That Great!
This book shows that everything has good and bad aspects to it; things are not all good, nor are they all bad... they can be both as the same time. It is a wonderful book to read to your children (mine are 2 and 4 years old) and they can fill in the ending phrase for each event; it's either good or bad. I highly recommend this book for your children or grandchildren; it is a fantastic ...

Stop Drop And Roll2 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Live Oak Media, 2004

Stop Drop and Roll Fire Safety Book
This book is great. My daughter finds this book very amusing in some spots where the girl is so worried about things. She says "mom, if she quits worrying she will feel so much better." It teaches kids what to do if they need to utilize stop, drop and roll in a fun and comfortable way.

A great book!
My 5 year old checked this book out at our local library. He loved it and didn't want to take it back, so I bought it for him. It has simple sentiences that he can read to himself.

Kindness Is Cooler, Mrs. Ruler5 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2007

Very cute book
The kids at my school loved hearing about how the students did 100 kind deeds and they challenged themselves to do 100 kind deeds as a class during the month of February (Kindness Month at our school). Most classes reached their goal and felt so proud, all thanks to Mrs. Ruler.

Little Dump Truck, The2 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2009

This is the perfect little story in rhyme for your little truck lover! "RRR-RRR-RRR!"
Hard Hat Pete was driving his dump truck "rattle-rattle-clatter" down the street. He had a full load of "stones and rocks" and was on his way to dump them. It would be a busy day for the dump truck. The streets were busy. There was a truck from a fish market going one way and a tow truck going the other. People were stopping to talk to each other, a woman was walking her puppy and a couple ...

That's Good! That's Bad! in the Grand Canyon3 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2002

Big Hit!
I read this book to my class today. I thought they would enjoy it but I had no idea it would such a big hit! The children loved the story and illustrations. The story is cute and becomes predictable, encouraging children to join in. The detailed, quirky illustrations brought lots of laughter. I left the book out afterward for the children to read. It was wonderful to watch their facial ...

100th Day Worries6 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2005

We love this book
We first checked this book out of the library and we just love it. The story is so refreshing and Jessica's(the main character and the worrier) family really comes through for her. My five-year-old loves the math concept: the different ways to get to 100. This book reinforces a little learning in a loving and thoughtful way.

The Bumpy Little Pumpkin3 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Scholastic Paperbacks, 2009

Wonderful little story
This is a wonderful little story book. It is the story of Little Nell who lives with Big Mama, Big Sarah and Big Lizzie. When they are sent to the pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin to carve into a jack-o'-lantern the older girls mock the pumpkin Little Nell likes best. She is left there crying when some of her woodland friends come upon her. They help her carve the pumpkin she likes and her Mom ...

Princess Bess Gets Dressed34 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, 2009

Princess Bess is not the only one... :-)
Princess Bess Gets Dressed is a story about a princess and how she dresses many different ways at times throughout the day for the busy activities that a princess has. She enjoys dressing up to an extent, but deep inside her favorite part of the day is settling down the essentials, her favorite attire, an undershirt and underwear. The story is a nicely written rhyme. The illustration inside is ...

Biggest, Best Snowman9 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Scholastic Audio Books, 2007

You are Never too Small to Do Big Things
Little Nell wants to do big things like BIG Mama and her older sisters do. "No you can't" they tell her, "You're just too small". In this story The Biggest, Best Snowman, Little Nell learns that she can do big things, despite what her family says. This delightful tale teaches children that they, like Little Nell, are never too small to do big things when they really try. This message is ...

Monster Mess!2 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Margaret K. McElderry, 2008

"Piu, piu . . . " are you one of those people with stinky things in their messy room? This book is hilarious!
Yawn, yawn. There is a tired monster that needs to go to bed. He tiptoes around the house and you can see many of his legs as he passes in front of the couch. "Tiptoe, tiptoe, around the house I creep." Ooops, that big curly tail just knocked over a couple of chairs just before he stomped up the stairs to head to the boys room. Gotta be very quiet now. "Zzzz, zzzz." He's sleeping. Ugh, ...

Please Play Safe! Penguin's Guide To Playground Safety2 reviews
Margery Cuyler

Scholastic Press, 2006

Zany guide to playground safety and fun.
Margery Cuyler's PLEASE PLAY SAFE: PENGUIN'S GUIDE TO PLAYGROUND SAFETY receives Will Hillenbrand's fun drawings as it tells of too-playful playground animals who forget how to play safely. They create all kinds of problems as a result, and kids will get a laugh out of the zany guide to playground safety and fun.

That's Good! That's Bad! In Washington, DC1 review
Margery Cuyler

Henry Holt and Co. (BYR), 2007

Awesome Book!!!
I just moved to the DC area and bought this book for my nephew - he just turned 4 years old. He lives in Ohio and I wanted him to know about the new city that his Auntie lives in. He LOVES IT! The way the book repeats "That's good, that's bad!" makes it interactive for kids. I have already recommended it to a friend to buy for her kids!
