Highly recommended!
This delightful little graphic novel is actually a collection of four stories from SUPERMAN ADVENTURES 25-24. The storylines of these four adventures are quite exciting, and the illustrations came out quite striking. My ten-year-old son loved this book, and highly recommends it to you. So do I! Incase you are interested, the four stories are: "(Almost) The World's Finest Team," finds Bruce ...

Highly original and highly human, even for super-types
This volume of issues 13-29 of the original comic is my first exposure to the "Authority" series and I'm definitely going to have to go back and locate the first collection. (Although the backstory is nicely conveyed, too.) The superheroes who make up the Authority are "manufactured" rather than being aliens or supernatural beings, and they're often not very nice, and the Good Guys are perfectly ...

Fun and fascinating read
I was so engaged that I read the book in a day instead of stretching it out. Lots of interesting info. The backstage in-fighting was fascinating and so were the accounts of the evolution of various Superman TV shows and movies. Since the other reviewers have hit a lot of the high points, and at the time that I purchased the book, no table of contents was attached, here's a breakdown of the ...

Just plain amazing (no pun intended)
With Marvel pretty much letting loose on Spider-Man mania with a host of different Spidey-titles, this newly launched title, under the Marvel Knights banner, finds the web head getting the most brutal beatdown he's had in years, courtesy of Mark Millar. Next to J. Michael Straczynski's current unheralded reign on Amazing Spider-Man, Millar's Spidey title is one of Marvel's best top selling ...

great tpb...
i hated the ultimates 1 vol 1, the ultimates 1 vol 2 was a lot better but still not great. the ultimates 2 vol 1 however is great. i still hate the idea of bruce banner being a scumbag, and there are a bunch of other ultimate universe things that carry into this that i don't like. but overall this is a great tpb and highly recommended.

MARVEL CIVIL WAR ROCKS!!!

Oh. My. God!
I was never much of a Fantastic Four fan, but was impressed enough by the first two (hardcover) installments of the Ultimate Fantastic Four series to take a chance on volume 3, especially once I heard Mark Millar and Greg Land were at the helm. I had no idea that when I was done reading it, I would rank it just below the Ultimates volumes 1 and 2 as the best Ultimate Marvel storyline ever. In ...

A thoroughly enjoyable, fast-paced superhero sory
The conclusion to the "Wolverine: Enemy Of The State" epic is one of the most thoroughly enjoyable, fast-paced, no-holds barred superhero stories I've read in quite a while. Too often nowadays these big story arcs seem to wrap up in a hurry and have a weak ending -- such is NOT the case here: Mark Millar built up the tension, sustained the action and kept the pace just right, from beginning to ...

Great Story, One of my favorite Batman takes
I thought that The Red Son would be this sort of cool elseworld take on Superman and I will get around to it when I feel like it. Then I read it and I wished I had picked it up sooner. It has taken a place on my self reserved for my favorites. I really liked the use of Batman, Green Lantern, Bizarro, and Brainiac in this story as well as the lack of kryptonite. I have always considered it ...

Ultimate x men still great.
Ultimate x men continues to deliver great story with original ideas. The Ultimate X men idea was a great one. Uncanny X men and other Marvel titles have run for so long it is hard for younger new readers to pick it up. They often fill lost and left out. With the Ultimate titles there is now a place to go. In Ultimate X men they recreate some of the best characters in the X men franchise and finds ...

This is truly fantastic!!!
I like this one. I got it today and I have already read it 3 times. The art is beutiful, the storyline is great and the dialouge is fresh, funny and comedic. My fav dialouge is this: Reed: What's up, Johnny? Johnny: You like my sister? Reed: Sue? Yes, yes I do. Johnny: Like that? Reed: Like what? Johnny: You know... like that? Do you like her like that? Reed: ... Johnny: You guys have ...

great, even for a newbie
it had been a while since i had been into comics...my last go round was in middle school and i bought every issue #1 hoping to retire off my earnings in a few short years...oh well. anyway, the new X-Men movies stoked my appetite for Wolverine. being relatively new to the entire X-Men series, i didnt know where to start without being lost in ongoing story arcs and whatnot. upon reading this, I ...

I wanted to write in English...

Awesome - a must read for fans!
This volume caps the series and is a Must Read for fans of the Ultimates. The artwork is superb, the story exciting with the sort of writing that is new to the world of comics: real emotions and situations, real relationships that span months (not single issues!) all in a sci-fi world that's not all that different from our own. (Well, okay, the whole super powers thing isn't commonplace around ...

The best Wolverine story in years
When Mark Millar began his year-long run on Wolverine, not many expected his run to become one of the absolute best Wolverine stories, well, maybe ever. Enemy of the State finds Wolverine kidnapped and brain washed by the newly formed alliance of the Hand, Hydra, and the demonic Gorgon; all of whom use Wolverine as their own bloodthirsty assassin. Things get even worse when they set him loose ...
