Handbook of Neurofeedback: Dynamics and Clinical Applications1 review

The Haworth Press Inc, 2006

Handbook of Neuro feedback
This is the only book I was able to find with a broad background of neurofeedback. Yes it is interesting... but could have done with a few more things eg. A list of practising Neuro feedback practitioners or organisations would have been useful. Otherwise readers don't know who to contact. A list of manufacturers of Neurofeedback equipment would have been useful. They are mentioned in ...

Well, that chapter change my mind in approach people. Menopaws: The Silent Meow8 reviews
Martha Sacks

Ten Speed Press, 1995

Great Party Gift
I bought this book a few years ago and thought it was hysterical then. Since then I continue to buy more books for friends and family because everyone needs a good laugh when they are going through "the change." This year I gave a dozen "Menopaws, The Silent Meow" books to a group of women who came to a class reunion. Not only was it a great ice-breaker... but everyone agreed is was fun and ...

Thoughts & Feelings: Taking Control of Your Moods and Your Life (Workbook Workbook)21 reviews
Matthew McKay, Martha Davis, ...

New Harbinger Publications, 2007

This is a great workbook for everyone.
I am on my third workbook. The first fell apart I used it with clients so much. The second was cast by the wayside when the third edition came out because of the amazing new chapter on mindfulness. It is full of cognitive balancing skills and coping methods. One can use it alone or with a therapist. I have seen it heal anger, depression, anxiety and even help with self-esteem.

Sarah's Seasons: An Amish Diary and Conversation8 reviews
Martha Moore Davis

University Of Iowa Press, 2000

A Beautifully Portrayed Work!
My co-worker loaned me this book. For I used to be a member of an Old Order Amish sect. What I found in the diary were true emotions and experiences that a woman faces living in an Old Order Amish sect. This is a beautifully portrayed work. I recommend it, as well as, "The Storekeeper's Daughter", by Wanda Brunstetter, and "My Amish Heritage", by Ruth Irene Garrett. Sicily Yoder aka Teresa ...

Ms. Martha F. Davis

Yale University Press, 1995

In policymaking, the agenda is everything
This book explains how welfare really mushroomed during the 1960's onward--and the conditions which led to the need for a welfare rights movement. A punitive crackdown on welfare recipients in the 1950's with a growing consciousness of their status encouraged these women to organize a welfare rights movement. One of the actors in that movement was lawyers. Because they were not ...
