A Darkness More Than Night (Harry Bosch)162 reviews
Michael Connelly

Vision, 2002

Well done
I've always like Connelly's characters--Terry McCaleb and Harry Bosch. This was a great joining of the two into one novel. The plot was complex and twisted and unpredictable. The characters are all well-rounded, screwed up and people you want to have coffee with. Hope to read the two of them crossing paths again.

The Black Echo (Harry Bosch)124 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2002

My first Connelly book and I loved it!
I've been looking for a new author and decided to try Michael Connelly's Black Echo. This is a fabulous book! I will certainly be reading more of Michael Connelly's work. The plot was intricate, well thought through, and there were no loose ends left hanging at the end of the book. The characters were well developed and interesting. The main character, Harry Bosch, often bucks authority but is ...

The Black Ice (Harry Bosch)97 reviews
Michael Connelly

Vision, 2003

New to Michael Connelly and really enjoying his work!
I recently decided to read Michael Connelly and I am really enjoying his books. Black Ice is my second Connelly book given I've decided to read them in order. What I loved about Black Echo and now Black Ice is how intricate and well thought through the plots are. In Black Ice, Harry Bosch aggressively investigates the deaths of two fellow officers even though his superiors would prefer he ...

The Brass Verdict239 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2009

Mickey, Harry, and Jack
Only a few of my favorite authors produce stories in which their series characters intermingle. One of my favorites was the Church of England series by Susan Howatch (as far from stodgy as it's possible to get), and now, with The Brass Verdict, Michael Connelly promises to do the same with a skillful interweaving of characters from earlier novels. This is not an easy task, but Connelly is more ...

The Lincoln Lawyer318 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2008

One of the best
I read the Bras Verdict which I liked very much so I got a copy of the Lincoln Lawyer. Would have to say this is one of the best books out there. Loved the characters and the true depiction of behind the scenes court room law. This book keeps your interest throughout and just becomes unable to put down after the first half. I am now a Connelly fan and am starting the Narrows today. Hope he ...

Nine Dragons168 reviews
Michael Connelly

Little, Brown and Company, 2009

Excellent Writing & Series Progression
Michael Connelly is an excellent writer. He has the perfect balance between layers of detail without being wordy. I was sucked in immediately and stayed hooked. I stayed up until 2:00 am last night finishing the book. He paints his main character richly. We see the good, the bad and the ugly of Harry Bosch. This book will provide an interesting launching point for the future of this series ...

The Harry Bosch Novels: The Black Echo, The Black Ice, The Concrete Blonde37 reviews
Michael Connelly

Little, Brown and Company, 2001

Detective Novel Reading at its Best.
I have found only two detective story writers that I know in advance will provide reading pleasure for me from front to back cover. This is especially true of this trifecta of Harry Bosh stories, Echo, Ice, and Blonde . Michael Connelly consistently draws a written picture that I feel as if I am there in the place and action. Accurate research is also a must for my reading pleasure. Connelly is ...

Angels Flight (Harry Bosch)168 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2000

A review of the audiobook
This early installment in the Harry Bosch series is as good as the rest in the series meaning, at least in my mind, it is a proud member of one of the best set of detective novels currently being produced. Connelly's books are usually deep and gritty and this one is no different. The lead character is Harry Bosch, the leader of a 3 detective team in the LAPD that is assigned an unusually ...

Lost Light (Harry Bosch)175 reviews
Michael Connelly

Vision, 2004

One more in a long string of successes!
Harry Bosch has always been true to his personal values - "Everyone matters or nobody matters". The unsolved mystery of Angella Benton's murder, a case he had been pulled off four years earlier had always bothered him. Now retired after almost 30 years of dealing with the disillusionment and hypocrisy of police administration, he decided to indulge his whim, his curiosity and his dogged, ...

The Scarecrow218 reviews
Michael Connelly

Little, Brown and Company, 2009

Crime Drama at its Best
This book has everything. Great premise, creepy villain(s), excellent writing.... Connelly gradually unfolds the story as recently fired L.A. Times reporter Jack McEvoy and FBI agent Rachel Walling pursue a high tech serial killer from Los Angeles to Nevada to Phoenix. The pace is fast and the story is easy to follow despite its numerous plot twists. There is also a tie to previous ...

The Overlook (Harry Bosch)211 reviews
Michael Connelly

Vision, 2008

Fast pace thriller
I have read many Michael Connelly books. I have never been disappointed by any of them. The Overlook holds true to my previous statement. Sure, this book may not be as elaborate as some of his other novels, but it was very well paced, had action, and kept me guessing up to nearly the very end. Harry Bosche was more appealing in this novel than in the previous ones I read. It seemed like he ...

City of Bones (Harry Bosch)216 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2006

Valuable lessons learned
The more I read, the more intrigued I became by the process, assumptions, mistakes, in trying to solve a crime. That I became involved in the whole thinking process as events unfolded was a journey to the truth well traveled along with Bosch.

Void Moon178 reviews

Vision, 2001

This is a great crime novel
Cassie Black was out of prison on probation. She had a job selling high end cars. I don't want to spoil the plot so I will need to be careful at this point. She needs money fast. She turns to an old contact and asks him to set her up with one last job. The job returns her to Las Vegas where she runs into the mob. The job goes bad and mob is after Cassie. This is a great crime novel. My review ...

The Poet298 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2002

Detailed, Well-written Suspense Novel
The key to the success of this book is in the details. Obviously, a lot of time was spent writing a suspense novel that seduces the reader legitimately and creates an intoxicating fictional world, replete with interesting characters developed in depth (for the main characters) with just the right amount of time spent on the secondary characters. The beginning is particularly brilliant. ...

The Harry Bosch Novels Volume 2: The Last Coyote, Trunk Music, Angels Flight15 reviews
Michael Connelly

Little, Brown and Company, 2003

Michael Connelly Bosch series volume 1
I love Michael Connelly's mystery thrillers and to find 3 books in 1 volume was very pleasing to me! Both volume 1 & 2 are well worth the buy and certainly worth the leisurly reading hours.

Very good book in the true Michael Connelly style. Bosh finally comes up with the right answer right in the nick of time! Great read!

Echo Park (Harry Bosch)202 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2007

Repercussion in Echo Park
In my quest to get all caught up with the Harry Bosch series, I just finished book #12, Echo Park. I'm trying to get caught up so I can read the latest, Nine Dragons, which just came out this month. There's only one book standing between me and the dragons and that's The Overlook, which I hope to read shortly. With Echo Park now under my belt, this puts the grand total of Michael Connelly books ...

The Last Coyote (Harry Bosch)89 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2007

Quite Simply, A Good Book
As an avid reader I jump from author to author, genre to genre, fiction to non-fiction, searching for the elusive good read. Fiction writers who write interesting tales sometimes skew their facts or lines of probability while academics, at times, tend to take interesting topics and make them less so. Not always, but it happens. Occasionally though, you get the gifted writer who makes a book- ...

The Concrete Blonde (Harry Bosch)126 reviews
Michael Connelly

Grand Central Publishing, 2007

Didn't figure this one out!
I just recently started reading Michael Connelly and I am so glad I did. If you like Jonathan Kellerman and/or John Sanford, you'll like Connelly. I'm reading his books in order which I think was the right way to go since they seem to build off of one another. Harry Bosch, an LAPD Detective and the primary character in the book, really grows on you after several books. Concrete Blonde is ...
