Wrath of the Spectre8 reviews
Michael Fleisher, Jim Aparo

DC Comics, 2005

Bold stuff for 35 years ago!
There was a time when Jim Aparo, at the top of his game, was one of the best and brightest in comics and this was well within that era. Bold, frightening and chilling, sometimes exhibiting a black humor that scared off editorial and regardless of sales, they killed the book! A short series to be thoroughly enjoyed.

Essential Ghost Rider, Vol. 2 (Marvel Essentials)2 reviews
Gerry Conway, Don Glut, ...

Marvel Comics, 2007

An essential collection for an overlooked character
In some respects, the stories are not terribly complex: Ghost Rider travels across the country, chases bad guys and punishes them. However, there is real drama between Johnny Blaze and the Ghost Rider, as the spirit's real personality starts to come to life, and takes a toll on Blaze's personal life. Highly recommended.

The Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes, Volume 1: Batman2 reviews
Michael L Fleisher

Macmillan, 1976

A great resource/research tool.
Released in the mid-70's, Fleisher was able to do three volumes: Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. These are indepth, intricate books that cover things alphabetically. Informative, interesting, and fun. I wish he had been able to finish the remaining five volumes.

Essential Man-Thing Volume 2 TPB (Essential)1 review
Steve Gerber, Michael Fleisher, ...

Marvel Comics, 2008

A book burns on amazon
At last, the rest of Steve Gerber's superb run on Man-Thing is out in the essential format. The first half of this book really is essential, as it showcases some of Gerber's best work on this strip, including the classic stories 'The Kids's Night Out' & 'A Book Burns in Citrusville' ( dealing with school bullying & censorship respectively ). Most fun is Steve's last script on the regular series ...

Essential Spider-Woman, Vol. 2 (Marvel Essentials)5 reviews
Michael Fleisher, J. M. DeMatteis, ...

Marvel Comics, 2007

Great value, Great everything else, Highly recommended
This is a surprisingly good read at an even more surprising value. The art is black and white, but it looks clear and clean, and great. The paper is lower quality then what you'll find on modern Marvel/DC tradepaper backs but it seems no worse then the kind of paper you get in most Vertigo trade paper backs. And there are a truckload of issues collected. The stories are really cool and ...

Michael L. Fleisher

DC Comics, 2007

Happy to see it back in print
I have an original copy of this great bok. I bought a used copy off of Amazon about a year or two ago.I first read this book as a kid many, many years ago. As a kid this book was a lot of fun to read. It still is. It covers more about Batman than any book out there. You will learn everything you would like to know about the Darknight Detective (From his beginings up until the 70's). I ...

Showcase Presents: Jonah Hex, Vol. 14 reviews
John Albano, Arnold Drake, ...

DC Comics, 2005

wierd western tales
If you want to read a Sergio Leone movie in graphic art form, Hex is the book for you. Most of the stories are a step up from your ordinary western fare. Its like Shane/ The Man With No Name or Gary Cooper riding across these pages. For a comic written in the early 1970's it takes on topical issues and doesn't hold back. This is not the Vertigo version of Hex but it provides one with a wonderful ...
