Delicious Horror
Sporting a dark, powerful cover and delicious illustrations that shed a menacing light on the corresponding text, the seven stories featured here, by writers hailing from Maryland, California, Ireland and Holland, among other places, oscillate between the brutal and the sensitive, earthly violence and fantastic gore, moronic mafia men and funny zombies. A follow-up to Teddy Bear Cannibal ...

Three short stories and three novellas
Author Michael Hemmingson, whose works range from noir (Wild Turkey) to erotica (The Amateurs) to pop-culture scholarship (William T. Vollmann: A Critical Study and Seven Interviews), puts his wide-ranging pen to the medium of short fiction in the Dybbuk Press collection This Other Eden. All of the stories in this collection of short stories and novellas contain the word "Happen" in the title, ...

Sad & Sexy
Why does this book "feel" autobiographical? It's sexy, sure, but sad in many ways. A serious novel, too.

a fine collection
Novellas are an art form that needs to be explored more. There are many fine examples of this form inside this nifty chunk of a book.

Vollmann 101
The extraordinary range of writing here by Vollmann, himself an extraordinarily prolific writer, is a great window into the man's literary ambition and accomplishment. From poetry (just one), photos, essays, letters to editors and publishing houses, short stories, interviews...his calm intelligence and blazen sincerity shine in this collection I recommend for the uninitiated. Then move on to ...

The Comfort of Women
There is a lot of hot sex. But the story line is rather boring. I will not read it again.

This is definitely HARD CORE .... erotica ....
and before you jump to buy it be forewarned that I really really did not like this book at all. It get my five star rating only because it is very well written, has a great little story and even some semblance of a plot. What makes it hard core can not be really described in this forum ... but ... trust me ... in my opinion it's way way out there for a Blue Moon book .... Since erotica is in the ...

Designed for rereading
Like Kathryn in the City, this is an adult Choose-Your-Own-Adventure. Reading it, you wonder that it took so long for someone to make this, the concept fits light erotica very well. The story is about a new professor in a new city, with many different diversions and options along the way. The writing is fun, the choices diverse, and erotica good. And of course, you can always pick it up again ...

A smart and sexy book
It moves fast, but that it's ultimate charm. You can easily breeze thriugh this novel -- or series of short-short stories that are interlinked by various recurring characters -- in one sitting, and get to the last page...satisfied.
Seven Women: An Erotic Private Investigation

"I've been sitting at the counter of this bar for almost an hour, now on my third drink, when I notice one of the women, in a group of women, saunter in and sit in a booth. There are five of them, all in their mid-twenties to early thirties. I don't want to seem too conspicuous. I try to verify my suspicion from the mirror at the bar. There are too many bottles in the way. I turn around and look. Yes, it's her -- my ex-wife. She sees me looking, ...

Decent, though meandering
Good book, not as good as the first one. One of the most wandering books, considering it starts with a gimmick that they never conclude, and the title character is only in, say, 30% of the book. Almost the whole book focuses on her boyfriend. I guess they couldn't put a sexy girl on the cover if they named it after him.

The second best in the series
Arguably the second best in the series. The story is compelling and moves briskly, but doesn't meander nearly as much as some of the other books. the whole premise works a lot better than the third book as well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
