Second Edition, A Major Upgrade
This book rocks. Seriously. The second edition is a serious improvement over the first. The integration with with other Lippincott reviews (Biochem & Pharm) puts this book on the must-have short-list for Step 1. Watch out Med Micro Made Ridiculously Simple, this could and should be the new number one USMLE micro book.

Excellent
I like the book so far. Its is compact yet readable. If you have used Lippincott for Biochemistry this book is similar in size, and has a similar layout as the Bichem book. If you attend SMU I recommend also ordering Katzung Board review for practice questions as Dr.K and Dr.G will recommend that you purchase it.

This book is the best and worst of the High Yield series. What is does right: Allows a quick easy read, without too much detail to bog you down. Only real use I can see in preparing for USMLE is to read this book to gear you up for studying and to get some dormant material back into circulation. I am a first year mature age medical student with a bit of biochemistry under my belt and with several other degrees completed in the past. I have read through dozens of weighty tomes in my lifetime and this is one of the best I have come across in any discipline.
