Huge hit with my nephew(s)!!!!!!
I chose this book for my two-year old greatnephew, Ansel, last Christmas - he looked and tossed it aside. But now his mother tells me it is THE bed time pick! I had thought it was a great balance of pictures with just enough text, and a quick moving story, and she agrees. Apparently it is the every night choice! Now my other niece says they have had to buy a copy for the other greatnephew, ...

A sweet, fun, and reassuring Bible story
This sweet picture book is based on Christ Jesus' parable found in Luke 15:3-4. Both the text and the illustrations are great for teaching little ones a comforting lesson. As the author puts it: "God above keeps us in his boundless love."

Review from ultra
In an industy where hundreds of childrens books are introduced almost every month, this one impressively stands out among all the other casualties for content and especially illustration. This is a rare case where illustration style and story does not try to partonize parents and their children nor does it come across as an over-intellectualized wanna-be childrens book. I can't wait to have ...

Barnyard Song
The book Barnyard Song is a great book to read as an adult and to read to my three year son. I love the way the book flows. The animals in this book develop the barnyard flu that they catch from a fly. Then the doctor and his nurse come buy and give check out the barnyard animals and give them farmer some medicine. During the time of the flu the barnyard song just doesn't sound right. ...

Lovely!
The poetic text and rich art of this book complement each other perfectly. It presents a good amount of information in a simple format so that even young preschoolers can start to understand the origins of this tradition. This book reads like a classic...it's lovely!

lovely telling of the birth of jesus
This is a beautiful story of Christ's birth told in a repeating rhyme. The story tells of the animals who were present in the stable, Mary and Joseph, and all the people who came to rejoice as the light shone on the big round world. I was looking for a simplified version of the story with beautiful pictures - one that is not too advanced for the preschool set but still appealing for the parent ...

A wonderful book!
Author Rhonda Gowler Greene and illustrator Janet Broxon base their book, Sing Praise on Psalm 148 and Psalm 150. The delightful and lyrical text is a perfect vehicle to entertain and teach children about creation. Gowler Greene's verses evoke strong word pictures, and are enhanced by Broxon's big, beautiful, and colorful illustrations. The result of their combined talent is a story that will ...

a new favorite for first day of school
This story makes my favories list for several reasons. The story told in rhyme and the collorful action filled illustrations make it hold kids attention better than the old favorite of Miss Nelson is Missing. It also portrays a day where everything goes wrong for the teacher, a grown up version of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. All teachers should read this book :)

Accurate Retelling
Jonah and the Great Big Fish, by Rhonda Gowler Greene, tells the well-known Bible story in rhyme. Unlike many similar offerings, Greene's is a pretty thorough retelling, beginning with God commanding Jonah to travel to Ninevah and preach to the people there. Instead, Jonah tries to flee from God, boarding a ship sailing away from Ninevah. "As he rested down below, a mighty wind began to ...
