Ultimate Sticker Book, It Is...
This is the Ultimate Ancient Egyptian sticker book. Besides being colorful and interesting, the stickers and various forms and shapes explain how they were used in Ancient Egypt and are historically correct. It is a useful learning book for any child or adult interested in ancient Egypt history and well worth the price.

Stephen Biesty's Incredible Everything (Stephen Biesty)3 reviews
Richard Platt, Stephen Biesty

DK CHILDREN, 1997

Don't let the age grouping fool you!!
My son's kindergarten teacher has this in his class. All the 5 year olds love it so I'm getting it for our son for Chrismas. My husband and myself both enjoyed reading it to our kids and they really enjoyed the detailed pictures. If your child likes Richard Scarry, they'll probably like Stephen Biesty.

Stephen Biesty's Incredible Explosions: Exploded Views of Astonishing Things2 reviews
Stephen Biesty

Viking Children's Books, 1996

An amazing educational tool
This book is an amazing educational tool. Biesty has created some incredibly detailed diagrams of machines, living creatures and structures. The word explosion in the diagram refers to the structure of the diagrams. Each one is an expansion of the object, showing all of the major pieces separately with lines directing you back to its' location in the object. It is as if the object exploded out ...

The Coolest Cross-Sections Ever!3 reviews
Richard Platt, Stephen Biesty

DK CHILDREN, 2001

A book we go back to again and again!
The age range of 9-12 for this book is too narrow. It is a favorite among ALL of our family members! With a book store gift card in hand, our newly-turned five-year-old picked this book himself above all others to bring home... and it has remained a favorite of his a year and a half later. Mom and Dad even enjoy pouring over this book with him WHENEVER he asks, and we have all learned a lot. ...

Man-Of-War9 reviews
Richard Platt, Stephen Biesty

Scholastic, 1990

An exceptionally fine book that can delight young and old
Dorling Kindersley has in the past twenty years quickly established itself as an outstanding publisher of niche books--children's reference books, travel guides, atlases, and the such. What I find so remarkable about a number of their children's books is how enormously satisfying they are for adults as well, even adults who are fairly familiar with the subject matter. One of the better series ...

Quest for the Lost City of Gold1 review

Dorling Kindersley Publishers Ltd, 2007

Quest for Knowledge!
How do you capture the imagination of children when it comes to ancient treasures and historic sites? National Geographic videos are fine. PBS specials are well done, but slanted. Short of touring the world on an unlimited budget, you can't do much. Stephen Biesty has developed a method that leads young readers into the world of ancient wonders. If you remember "Fraggle Rock" and Uncle ...

Egypt in Spectacular Cross-section1 review
Stewart Ross

Oxford University Press, 2007

Stephen Biesty's glorious cross-sections take us on a journey down the Nile
The premise of "Egypt: In Spectacular Cross-Section," which features the captivating artwork of Stephen Biesty, is that eleven-year-old Dedia and his father, Captain Wennufer, undertake a 39-day journey down the Nile River during the reign of the Pharaoh Ramses the Great in the year 1230 B.C.E. Officially Ramses II, he is commonly believed to be the pharaoh of the Exodus, although this is in ...

Amazing Pop-Up 3-D Time Scape1 review
Richard Platt, Stephen Biesty

DK CHILDREN, 1999

History alive !
This amazing book folds and opens out as a HUGE pop-up history book...from the Big Bang to the 20th century. Each 'slice'of pop-up history shows they way people were in ancient times. Illustrated in a lively and humourous way by Stephen Biesty, this book is sure to keep anyone bored, busy. This amazing book can even be hung up on the wall; great as a unique decoration, toy or classroom tool.

Incredible Comparisons4 reviews
Stephen Biesty, Russell Ash

DK CHILDREN, 1996

Incredible!
Incredible! Just incredible! Russel Ash's "Incredible Comparisons" is a lively book that sends across amazing facts and comparisons about all sorts of subjects. Such subjects include politics, the environment, city life, space, people, geography, money, big buildings, and many more. The whole book keeps the reader on his/her toes, completely facinated with all the surprising facts and ...

Stephen Biesty's Castles2 reviews
Meredith Hooper

Enchanted Lion Books, 2004

The Amazing Castle Book
My six-year-old son says, "This artist is a very good artist. He is great at drawing buildings and is great about knowing everything that is going on in his pictures. My favorite buildings in his book are the ones in water and the ones with lakes in them. My most favorite one of all is Caernarfon Castle from 1320." He takes this book to bed with him and examines each page very carefully.

Stephen Biesty's Incredible Cross-Sections8 reviews
Stephen; Platt, Richard Biesty

Alfred a Knopf Inc, 1992

Absolutely Fascinating!!
I found a copy of this book in a hospital x-ray waiting area. I could have spent hours poring over it. The cross-sections include a castle, a space shuttle, an observatory, a subway, a cathedral, and more. We see so little of what is around us and this book offers a hugely expanded view. It's like being used to seeing the tip of the iceberg and suddenly seeing the whole iceberg. Like the previous ...

Castle12 reviews
Stephen Biesty, Richard Platt

Scholastic, 1999

Cross-Sections Castle is an Awesome Book!
This is an exceptional book that is intended for children aged 9 to 12, but is fascinating even for adult readers. You get to see and learn about a fully functional castle in it's heyday. A grand medieval castle is divided into it's many different subsections. Each part of the castle is shown and described in great detail. Its inhabitants, from the Royalty and their residential area, to the ...

Rome1 review
Andrew Solway

Scholastic Reference, 2003

Absolutely one of Biesty's best
Lots of parents will be familiar with Stephen Biesty's "Cross-Sections" series, in which he provides wonderfully detailed cutaway drawings of famous old buildings and the like (e.g., ocean liners, spaceships, cathedrals, etc.). I really think this is one of the best of the series, too. Previously our favorite was "Stephen Biesty's Man-of-War," which detailed life on a Napoleonic-era battleship. ...

Ancient World

There are cross-sections, cut-aways and explosions, authoritative annotations, lists and explanations. Covers: Rome - including the Colosseum, the Forum, the Baths and chariot racing at the Circus Maximus Egypt - including the Valley of the Kings, the pyramids and Sphinx of Giza and preparation ...
