Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 2008 (Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference)4 reviews

Outstanding pocket guide
Scut monkey drug reference is way more useful and helpful than tarascon pocket pharm. It includes method of action, SE's, and more. Imagine that, a pocket pharm guide with side effects! Who would ever need that information? (tarascon doesn't include side effects....or method of action.) I carry it in my white coat pocket even though I have PDA software because, inevitably, before the ...

Internal Medicine On Call5 reviews

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2005

Overall very good, how about a new edition?
I am an intern in IM at the University of Florida, Shands Hospital. I have been using this book since day 1. It has saved me many times and my patients as well. The book is excellent for making a differential diagnoses and I like the fact that it lists common problems encountered while on call. It's great to follow all the recommended steps and really learn as you go along. The best example is ...

Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 2004 (LANGE Clinical Science)1 review
Leonard G. Gomella, Steven A. Haist

McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange, 2003

Super little resource
I keep this in my pocket at all times. Though it doesn't give the information my Davis Drug Guide does, it can be carried easily and has the dose range, action, contraindications, and uses of the medications. There is a section in the front that lists drugs by category such as antineoplastic agents, then it is broken down into subclasses such as antimetabolites. The drugs are listed in ...

Clinician's Pocket Reference (LANGE Clinical Science)6 reviews
Leonard G. Gomella, Steven A. Haist

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2003

Great reference book
I highly recommend this text for third year medical students. It properly assumes that the third year medical student knows next to nothing about clinical medicine and proceeds to explain abbreviations, commonly used drugs, procedures, protocols on rounds, and a whole host of useful things needed to survive and thrive in the hospital setting. I used it not only in medical school, but during my ...

Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 10 Pack3 reviews
Leonard G. Gomella, Steven A. Haist

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2006

The healthcare provider cheater pocket book
I think this book is the best one yet, it is small enough to fit in the pocket of my scrubs and informative enough to answer all my patients questions about the medications they use, and it comes in handy for the "hard"to spell medications. The best feature of this book is it's size, just love it and I recommend it to all my co-workers.

Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 2007 (Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference)3 reviews
Leonard G. Gomella, Steven A. Haist, ...

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2006

Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 2007
I am a new RN and use this reference guide every day. It is small enough to carry in my pocket or clip to the patient's chart. It is easy to use and contains all the essential information. There has not been a single medication that I looked up that was not in this guide. Drugs are listed by the generic name with trade name in parentheses. Great tables in the back of the book for administration ...

Clinician's Pocket Reference, 11/e (CLINICIANS POCKET REFERENCE)3 reviews
Leonard G. Gomella, Steven A. Haist

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2006

Indispensible1!!!
I have had this book in my library since the first edition and I buy the updates as soon as they are available. I recommend it to my (advanced practice nursing) students as a concise tool to keep up with the latest in procedures, medications, tests and imaging studies while maintaining and reviewing all the basic principles. And you can't beat the "Scut Monkey" name!! Ann Hirschman FNP
