An Overlooked Gem
We've been making the recipes from this booklet since 1999 and have rarely been disappointed. Several recipes are now family faves- sizzling Japanese Steakhouse Chicken, the earthy Fettucine with Wild Mushroom Sauce, Peking Chicken- and not because they are low-fat but because they taste great. The low fat is just icing on the cake. Guiltless dining. Love it. A little gem that is easy to ...

There's a Whole Lot of Florida in this Book
Miami Spice is one of the five best Florida/Gulf Coast cookbooks out there. Well, that's my opinion. I've been updating my Amazon "So You'd Like to Guides" and I have one on Key Lime Pie. Take a look at it if you want. Anyway, I've included fifty cookbooks (the maximum Amazon will allow) in all my guides, so I've had a chance to go through my collection. And quite a collection it is, I've got ...

Low fat recipes with lots of flavor!
An excellent cook book with lots of color pictures. The food is interesting and full of great flavors. The author shows a great appreciation for people who love food, love to cook but are required to eat a low fat diet. People not on low fat diets will never know it's low fat and healthy if you don't tell them.

Great Italian food without the fat
I'm always looking for new low-fat recipes, especially Italian, and this book is fantastic. After just a week of owning it, I can heartily recommend "Chicken with Balsamic Vinegar", "Chicken Alla Diavola" and "Mashed Potatoes with Sun-dried Tomatoes" (who've thought of that one! ) The recipes were easy to follow, simple to make (depending on your definition of simple) and offered plenty of ...

Raichlen Does Not Disappoint Again!
I'm an avid cookbook collector and reader and I never get tired of reading Raichlen; not to mention reproducing his recipes. I made the Tex-Mex Tequila-Jalapeno Wet Rub for a birthday party I was assisting with. I boiled the extra rub and served it on the side. Forget about seconds, try thirds and fourths.

One of the best vegetarian cookbooks I have ever come across!
I have been a vegetarian for more than 25 years, and this is my favorite cookbook of the dozens I have acquired. The recipes are varied and come out very well -- the Veggie Paella (pictured on the cover), made with the Mediterranean stock (recipe is also in the book), is out of this world! There are also wonderful recipes with quinoa and other grains and beans that aren't found in most cookbooks ...
Healthy Jewish Cooking

Healthy Jewish Cooking
Once again noted cookbook author, Steve Raichlen has hit a homerun. His adaptations of time honored Jewish comfort foods to suit the modern , healthy life style is phenomonal. Cabbage soup is as good as my bubbe's and it is completely vegetarion. From blintzes to borscht; from chopped liver to chicken fricasse, Raichlen runs the gamut of Jewish cooking perfectly. Add the personal touches of ...

Some Good Recipes
This book is a great place to start (for someone who's a beginner), like me... I was looking for a series of books to give me ideas on how to use the BBQ Equipment, as well as a good selection of recipes... This book is one of the "must haves" in my kitchen...

Not for athletes, but a good place to start
This book is written for those who are sedentary to at most moderately active, and want to change their behavior so as to accomplish long-term weight loss. It is a good motivator for getting started with strength training and keeping track of what you eat. It is definitely not intended for athletes, but rather the 75% of American women (so it says) that don't get regular exercise 3 days ...

Title speaks for itself
As more information trickles into the media about the pitfalls of the Atkin's diet (coronary heart disease, muscle breakdown, kidney problems), I looked for a cookbook with healthy balanced recipes. I've recently stopped dieting and started following Marilu Henner's "Healthy Lifestyle" approach and this book is a great compliment to the basis of her plan (except for the recipes with dairy and red ...

Fun delicious recipes and a fun read!
Soooo glad I ordered this book! Got a new Weber vertical poultry roaster for the grill (you have to buy one, worth the exorbitant price for the thing) combine it with this great book and voila - heaven in your grill! Bought one for a friend and ordering one for my son...go forth and purchase this and the Weber Poultry roaster and you will DINE TONITE!! (or when they come!) :)

Delicious, if high end, mexican food
I love this cookbook -- it is beautiful and realistic. Tamales, enchiladas, sopa pias and even chips are transformed tastily. This food is simply low fat, there is no skimping on salt or seasonings. The recipes are also flexible == you can add or detract naughty items like cheese and lard. The soups are SPLENDID, and the book is worth buying for the chicken and lime soup recipe. My only ...

Great Buy
BBQ USA: 425 Fiery Recipes from All Across America The best barbecue book I have ever had - full of history, interesting anecdotes, and most of all outstanding recipes - from quick and simple to gourmet. The instructions are clear, and the results are great. I highly recommend this book for the beginner and well as the master barbecue chef. You and your guests will not be disappointed.

Indoor! Grilling as good as outdoor and EASIER!
We don't have an outdoor grill. I love my George Foreman grill but didn't have a good variety of recipes and still always envied my friends who cooked incredible recipes on their gas grills outdoors. No more! I am loving the variety and end result of many of the recipes I've tried in this new, comprehensive cookbook!

Fabulous food layouts and color photos
It's worth buying this book just for the wonderful photographs. Not only is there a complete listing of exotic ingredients such as fruits, vegetables and spices, there is a nice assortment of recipes to choose from. This is definitely one of my favorite Caribbean books. If you like this book, you will love Angela Spenceley's latest book "A Taste of the Caribbean" featuring hundreds of tidbits ...

Great ribs, great fun
I got this book last summer and have used it many times - there's alot of basic info on ribs to understand how to cook various types of ribs to get the best results in each case. The first recipe in the book for basic ribs is winner - I make it all the time in the summer, adjusting it here and there to get different flavors. He really knows alot about the grill, so that information is worth the ...

Brilliant!
Although my mom was one of the better cooks I knew, I grew up in a household where dinner was not dinner if there was no meat. I knew first hand of many other cooks who fried foods in lard, or cooked with heavy creams, whole milks, white rice and sugar (brown rice and sugar were unheard of). I loved Latin American cooking and if I ate in my adulthood as I did as a child, I would probably have ...

An excellent addition to any collection of cook books.
This book should be appreciated by anyone who loves to cook, enjoys elegant but simple food and is interested in limiting fat and sugar in their diet. Mr. Raichlen does not sacrifice taste and flavor, and even though the removal of fat usually changes the texture and flavor of a dish, the addition of familiar and unusual herbs and spices more than compensates for the low amout of oil and ...
