My Life and Death by Alexandra Canarsie6 reviews
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe, 2008

A great read to keep you turning pages as fast as you can
This is a great read for middle-graders on up. Smart-mouthed but insecure Allie puts on a good self-defense act and alienates herself from family and those who might become friends. Her obsession with funerals (of people she doesn't know) and trying to unravel the mystery of what or who really killed Jimmy Muller will keep you turning pages as fast as you can read.

Sleepy Angel's First Bedtime Story1 review
Tara Egan Malanga, Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Paulist Press, 2000

a true blessing
Since recieving this book as a wonderful gift for my daughter, my night time ritual has changed dramatically. My daughter Elaina, now 7 has slept with me since 3 months old. I know my fault! Since June 2001 I have been trying everything I could think of to get her to sleep in her own room without making her feel rejected or like she did something wrong that now its no longer ok to sleep with ...

Be the Star That You Are!: A Book for Kids Who Feel Different (Elf-Help Books for Kids)1 review
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

One Caring Place, 2005

Wonderful series
I buy a lot of these series of books for my 7 year old. There is one for almost every emotion and many situations. Love books with a message especially if they have a good story line.

Administrative Assistant's & Secretary's Handbook16 reviews, ...

Good Reminder Handbook
This book was a good reminder of some things I learned, and it's good for those who want to learn more about administrative duties.

Death by Eggplant2 reviews
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Roaring Brook Press, 2004

Scary Parents, Scarier Teacher and a Cute Little Slour Sack
I think Death by Eggplant was an awesome book! Bertie Hooks Wants to be a world Famous Chef. He daydreams of Owning his own Cooking Show, writing a bestseller cook book and all that. But he first has to pass the 8th grade and unfurtunately for him his kooky Mom wants Him to be a dream anylist, his calculator Dad wants him to be an acountant and his teacher just wants him to fail! And poor ...

One Hungry Monster2 reviews
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Scholastic, 1989

Boys go Bananas!
Monsters and 5-year-old boys and addictive poetry that you'll recite for months from memory -- what a great combination. The monsters throw food, hang from chandaliers, paint their mouths with peanut butter, put spaghetti on their heads (and more!) which are all things my child attempts on occasion. Then the boy in the book gets mad and yells at them (like me, the parent) and then the monsters ...

Love me, love you1 review
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Scholastic, 2002

An Outstanding Picture Book For Young Children
This is a lovely, sensitive book with exquisite rhyme and illustrations. Parents will enjoy reading it to their children almost as much as the children will love hearing it over and over again.

One Hungry Monster : A Counting Book in Rhyme Board Book21 reviews
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Little, Brown Young Readers, 2001

Excellent Read for Mom & Sons
Me and my 2 1/2 year old boy just LOVED this book. He is very much into numbers and has been counting for a few months, so I got this book for him. It's one of the few books he sits for through the whole story. He especially loves the page for "four" ;). It is also good for his older brother, who is in kindergarden and learning how to read / spell the number words.

Angel Prayers: Prayers for All Children1 review
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Boyds Mills Press, 1999

Angel Prayers
This is a charming little book suitable for all children but particularly those who come from mixed faith backgrounds. It has a genuinely spiritual context without emphasising a particular religion. The illustrations are boldly colored and adults who like pastel water colors may find them garish but my grandchildren loved them.

Christmas Gifts2 reviews
Susan Heyboer O'Keefe

Boyds Mills Press, 2004

Tight Rhymes, A Sense of Calm
Large print, greatly detailed pictures, rhyming progress of the text lends anticipationg and structure to the often "gimme" oriented Christmas preparations. This would be a good one to read in Sunday School to kids in elementary school to remind them that Christmas is about love and family, togetherness and the gifts of love, not the gifts from WalMart.
