Well written and helpful
Susan Lang sought out child-free women of several generations to interview for this book. Her interviews and research gave quite a bit of insight into the emotions and reasonings of these women. Several interviews hit so close to home that I was in tears. I would strongly recommend this book to any woman trying to decide on a child-free way of life. I could see where the book might also give ...

Small Rocks Rising
Susan Lang does the impossible in her book, Small Rocks Rising. The story is as big, bulky, and unwieldy as the boulder her main character, Ruth Farely, encounters in Chapter One, while the writing is frequently as polished as any gemstone. Amid fast action and female lust, there is the slow revealing of Ruth's background. The complex composition of Ruth's character comes from her ...

A pillow-book for gardeners
I was a flat-land gardener most of my life, and when we retired and moved to a house with a backyard that sloped steeply down to a small river, I needed ideas on how to landscape our new property. "Hillside Landscaping" is a sort of pillow book for gardeners. The majority of its beautiful photographs show landscapes that gardeners of modest means can only dream about. I used the book to ...

If you just want ideas...
If you want to get ideas on what type of window treatments are available or what style you like the best, etc, this book is a great resource for you. Pictures are great, too. (This book does not give any instructions on how to make them.) I totally lack creativity but this book really helped me get ideas of what I'd like to make for my brand new house with extra large windows.

Migraine sufferer from Michigan
This is the most comprehensive headache book I've found. Other's I've read are biased towards pushing only drug therapies or only non-drug therapies. If you suffer from headaches, this is the only book you need to read. If you're doctor seems to be getting nowhere helping treat your headaches, give him/her a copy.

A good book for ideas and guidance
Hmm. The previous reviews baffle me a little as one can tell from the title this is not a one-size-fits-all book as each region in the country has different requirements and the title doesn't point to any one in particular. This book has great sketches with general plant categories, quantity needed, and placement guides to help you achieve a similar look in your yard. I'm not an expert ...
