Underground Clinical Vignettes: Neurology, Classic Clinical Cases for USMLE Step 2 and Clerkship Review1 review
Vikas Bhushan

Blackwell Publishers, 2001

A must for USMLE Step 2
If you read this book it will definitely increase your USMLE Step 2 score. I would say if you can't afford to go through all the Underground series, just go through this book and Emergency Medicine book. You will be happy of your decision.

Kaplan Q bank+ this book =all you need to pass and do well
I think the key to studying for the Step 1 is to restrict your studying materials. It's better to know everything in one book (THIS BOOK) than some of 5-6 books. So many questions from my USMLE came straight from this book that if you studied this and memorized every syllable, you will pass and pass well! Just supplement this with the Q bank to get yourself into question mode and you will be ...

Underground Clinical Vignettes Set of 8 (Internal Medicine Vol. 1, Internal Medicine Vol. 2, Surgery, Ob/Gyn, ...2 reviews
Vikas, Bhushan, Chirag, Amin, ...

Wiley-Blackwell, 1999

THE BEST BOOKS WRITTEN
I found these books to be the best source for USMLE step 2 and step 3 exams. A lot of the cases were directly from these books. I scored extremely well in my exams and it was due to the detail, focused issues and the high-lighted aspects of this text that allowed me to score well. The books are highly recommeded. They do not have any MCQs but after reading these books inside and out you will ...

Really it is all you need along with a good practice buddy
The world of USMLE exams and books is quite expansive and most of the time you don't know how to navigate your way around. To begin with what anyone gets out of any book is usually subjective, and more apparent when an author gives you more opinion and less fact as we are all swayed by how we practice and think. It is difficult to think that science books would be motivated by by personal beliefs ...

Underground Clinical Vignettes: Biochemistry: Classic Clinical Cases for USMLE Step 1 Review2 reviews
Vikas Bhushan, Vishal, M.D. Pall, ...

Blackwell Publishers, 2001

Better if used near to the test date
When I first read this book It was not very useful `cause everything was new for me, but when I re read it after I finish to read my biochemistry review, It was amazing, It helped me to order all the knowledgment that I had in a better form, in a perfect style to be prepared for the ECFMG questions. I recommend it to everybody who is preparing for the USMLE or ECFMG. And also highly recommended ...

Great book
I found this book highly useful for the usmle step 1. It summarized the topics in a reader friendly format. It helped me to study for the test without carrying so many textbooks around with me. I also recommend the following which is sold on amazon: Spinal Anatomy Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers ISBN: 0971999600 Microbiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers ISBN: ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 19971 review
Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le, ...

Prentice Hall, 1996

Objective review and 24 hour companion
This book alone will not PASS you on the USMLE. It is for reviewing only, has objective reviews for all subjects on STEP I and STEP II, add your notes to it and carry it to the beach, park, bed, have it handy at all times! To me it's the medical students bible for the boards. I found at least 25% of questions on the boards were in this book. Now that is a fact.

First Aid for the Internal Medicine Boards (First Aid Series)12 reviews
Tao Le, Tom Baudendistel, ...

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2005

What are you using it for
great book, just depends on what are you using it for,my specialty is not internal medicine, but taking the USMLE CK and step 3 entails much knowledge for internal medicine , this book is very useful and conclusive for this level of knowledge , perhaps the book might be inadequate for an internist who reads Harrison for breakfast :) LOL , so it all depends on your prospectives the lay out is ...

First Aid Q&A for the USMLE Step 1, Second Edition (First Aid USMLE)15 reviews
Tao Le, Seth Bechis

McGraw-Hill Medical, 2009

Excellent source of questions for Step 1 preparation
If you are old school like me in that you need to study from a physical book and simply CANNOT study from a computer (i.e. online Qbanks like UsmleWorld, Kaplan, etc which most people rave about but which turned out to be USELESS for me and my learning style), then I strongly recommend this Qbook. There is no doubt that online Qbanks like UsmleWorld are supposed to be really good - as per ...

First Aid for the Wards: Insider Advice for the Clinical Years12 reviews
Tao Le, Vikas Bhushan, ...

McGraw-Hill Companies, 1997

immensely helpful
The best part of this book is the reviews of other books. For each clerkship, a review of books in the categories of textbook, review size book and pocket size books is given. Definitely use their reviews as a guide to the immense amount of shelf and board review material available. The rest of this book consists mostly of description of different clerkships which may be more or less ...

First Aid for the USMLE Step 1: 200410 reviews
Vikas Bhushan, Tao Le

McGraw-Hill/Appleton & Lange, 2003

A GREAT ONE
I usually dont like this format of books where everything is too dense and compressed but this book changed everything. The book contains a huge amount of high yield facts many of which i had on my exam. Very well organized with a great section in pharma' and pathology but kind of weak on physiology. I read it a couple of times during the months before the exam and in the last week it was my ...

Microbiology (Bhushan Underground Clinical Vignettes)3 reviews
Vikas Bhushan, Chirag Amin, ...

Student to Student Medical Publishing, 1998

Excellent review book
The Microbiology books are arguably the best books of the Underground Clinical Vignette series. Microbiology is very high yield on Step 1 and many questions are asked from a clinical standpoint. I highly recommend these books as a part of a final review before Step 1. It is a good way to learn the clinical presentations of the rare and exotic diseases that may otherwise be missed during review.

make me a very good start as an intern
I bought this book before I enter my internship. I found this book very down to earth and practical. You can use it as an framework to guide your reading and also can use it as a guide book for your rotation in every department.
