Life Among the Dead58 reviews
Lisa Williams

Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2009

Excellent Book & Great Author!!
I really enjoyed this book. I also really enjoyed her show on Lifetime and was very disappointed when it was canceled. This book was very easy to read and I had trouble putting it down. It was fascinating to read about her psychic experiences as well as her personal life and how she found her way to what she was meant to do. I hope she writes another book soon!! I highly recommend this book!!

DUNCTON WOOD59 reviews
William Horwood

Ballantine Books, 1984

Terrific
I find it difficult to reread a book, but I have read Duncton Wood three times and am beginning to reread the rest in the series. I had to order the books from Amazon UK a few years back, but I think now they might be out of print. Do what you can to find every book in the series. You won't be disappointed. I don't know what you can say to convince people to read these books, but they are worth ...

The Animator's Survival Kit95 reviews
Richard Williams

Faber & Faber, 2002

An indispensable reference
This a must-purchase for the starting animator. I read The Illusion of Life first, which was a lot of words and theory but fewer walk-throughs (though you should buy that, too!). Get it, you won't be disappointed.

Journey through Genius: Great Theorems of Mathematics69 reviews
William Dunham

Wiley, 1990

Just what I've been looking for!
First things first: You have to really like maths to appreciate this book. If you have ever wondered how to prove Pythagoras' theorem geometrically, or would like to find out how Archimedes estimated pi, this is the book for you. If not, buy another. The book has a good mix of stories, explanations and mathematical proofs. It actually answered questions I have been wondering about for a long ...

The Count of Monte Cristo (Part 1)388 reviews
Alexandre Dumas

Blackstone Audiobooks, 1997

Great copy of unabridged Count of Monte Cristo
We only recently found out that all our copies of The Count of Monte Cristo were abridged. We checked this out of our local library and liked it so much we bought a copy for our home library. The type setting is very readable and best of all, it's not abridged. The story is a classic and a great read. I recommend it for everyone.

Kid Cooperation: How to Stop Yelling, Nagging and Pleading and Get Kids to Cooperate62 reviews
Elizabeth Pantley

New Harbinger Publications, 1996

very useful book
I highly recommend this book. Very helpful, especially for those parents that fail to be consistent and "go with the flow", failing to create strong rules and a loving, solid discipline. This books acts a self-confidence booster for parents, offers very empathetic advice when it comes to parental anger, and actually gives very practical tips and hints to deal with misbehavior. I love the ...

A Twist Of Fate125 reviews
Robyn Williams

Lushena Books, 2001

Couldn't have said it better
There was so much that I loved about this book! I loved author's writing style. I loved the chemistry between Sam and Ashela, between Ashela and her best friend, Kyliah and how so much detail went into telling what made the characters turn out the way they were. Although it took much too long for Sam to be introduced into the story, I still thought it was worth the wait. The love scenes were ...

Prentice Hall, 2007

Great Book to read before your first day at work!!
This is a great book to read as soon as you get out of school. This book gives advice from a former CEO perspective and now excellent professor to the New Manager. 6 Days in January55 reviews
William Fredrick Cooper

Simon & Schuster, 2006

A Must Read
I highly recommend 6 Days in January. This is a great novel that should be read by both men & women. It takes a deep look inside a black man's soul, mind, and heart regarding relationships. The main character, William McCall, is on a very rocky road of self-discovery, this same road has been traveled by many men & women whether they are aware or not. It is a long road of defining love, searching ...

These Happy Golden Years53 reviews
Laura Ingalls Wilder

Harper & Row, 1971

Classics
I love the Laura books, I can remember my mother reading them to me when I was young. Since then, I've read then again and it never ceases to delight me. My only complaint though, is that the illistrations are pathetic. They don't even look real, so I had a hard time seeing Laura as a real person. For me, when I see lifelike drawings, it really makes get in touch with their character. The ...

Laura Ingalls Wilder

Harper Collins, 1971

Pa Loves Ma, Ma Loves Pa, and All's Right With the World!
ON THE BANKS OF PLUM CREEK -- Who could forget the plague of grasshoppers, or spoiled Nellie's encounter with the crab, or Pa's sojourn in the blizzard, among other adventures? We -- my three homeschooled grandchildren and I -- are going through the Laura Ingalls Wilder series of books for the second time. We read them aloud during story time, and love every minute. These are books written ...

The Science of Hitting53 reviews
Ted Williams, John Underwood

Fireside, 1982

Science Indeed
What a fantastic book on hitting by one of the greates all-time hitters, Ted Williams. In a nutshell, its a book designed to teach the reader to hit better by showing them a comprehensive look at the science behind hitting. A few things that seemed to stand out: -the style of writing is like he's standing there talking to you which makes for an easy read -the batting advice is pretty thorough ...

Golden Books Treasury of Elves and Fairies44 reviews

Golden Books, 1999

Please Republish
I only bought one copy of the Golden Books Treasury of Elves and Fairies when it was reprinted in 2000. What a mistake! My kids, now parents, both want copies for their children, and my nieces and nephews want copies too. Once children have had this book, no other one can replace it. Garth Williams' artwork is not to be missed, and the stories and poems stay with you for a lifetime. Every ...
