Much Ado by McEachern
Claire McEachern's 2006 Arden edition of "Much Ado" is the definitive work. Her scholarship regarding the sources of Shakespeare's comedy outshines every other edition I have read because of its depth and comprehension. Her descriptions of the Euphuistic language in the play and her comprehensive analysis of the work of previous scholars, makes this the definitive edition for both students and ...

Nice edition of a great play
Interesting commentaries help with understanding this text. Also it includes notes on the various versions of Shakespeare's play. Convenient size, too!

Clearly written, easy to understand, focus on concepts and examples.
I am comparing this textbook with Microeconomics 10th by Baumol/Blinder, Economics 18th by Mcconnell, and Economics 18th by Samuelson. Due to a less-than-stellar teacher, I studied off of several economics textbooks and found this one to be the easiest to understand in terms of basic concepts and key terms. McEachern is blessed with the ability to teach the material as if you are a layman, ...

Moms helping moms
I ordered an Economics book for my high-school student. I rec'd an e-mail from seller within an hour thanking me for order. When the book hadn't arrived after 6 days, I contacted the seller because I had recently had problems with my package delivery and wanted to ensure the book had been mailed. Seller wrote back again within an hour, assuring me that the book had been mailed. Followed up ...

Henry IV, Part 1

The two sides of Hal
Henry IV remains one of my favorite Shakespeare plays, even though the tragedies and comedies get far more attention and seeming appreciation than do the histories. As an English major, I examined Henry's (Hal's) character, and I focused on his development from a somewhat foolhardy young man into a self-assured, even manipulative prince. It is hard to say which of these Hal truly is, or if he is ...

excellent textbook - won't buy it from amazon again
This is a text book that had to have. I do like the format, the review pages, and the low cost. However, I won't buy a textbook from Amazon again. It took almost three full weeks to get it on the FREE super saver (5-8 days shipping). They don't tell you that they don't have the book and it may take another 5-8 days before they get it so they can ship it to you. I lamost flunked out of the ...

Great contexts, no criticism or commentary
I loved the Longman Cultural Edition of "Pride and Prejudice"--in fact, it's the best edition I know of. I was all set for just as great an edition of King Lear, but I have to admit I'm disappointed. The notes to the text are a bit more helpful than most editions of Shakespeare, so that's fine. The documents given as context were great, far more extensive than most editions, comparable to what ...

This very successful textbook is distinguished by a superior writing style that draws upon common reader experiences to introduce economic concepts, making economic theory more accessible and interesting. "Case Studies" and numerous examples take advantage of readers' intuitive knowledge of economics, building upon real-life situations. A streamlined design places pedagogy and illustrations directly within the flow of the text, making them ...

Book is ok
This book is ok. It is very wordy, and again, economics is not like chemistry or calculus. At last, it is a social science. It takes about 4 pages of reading to get one useful concept. I just hope other econ classes won't use books as wordy as this one.

The single editions have much more background
This is the play where Henry IV squashes the Percy rebellion but himself becomes ill and dies. So, Price Hal becomes King Henry V and this leads to the next play of that name. The wonderful Falstaff is also on glorious display. This is also the play with the famous tavern scene (Act II, Scene IV) that can be read endlessly with new enjoyment. Everyone has his or her own take on Falstaff and his ...
