I do not see what all the negative reviews are about. Everything is very clearly explained, the examples are good and simple, and there is an answer to almost every problem in the back of the book. Has some weak spots (a few sections were poorly explained), but overall the explanations were good, there were lots of examples, and lots of exercises with full solutions.             Differential Equations: An Introduction to Modern Methods and Applications2 reviews James R. Brannan, William E. Boyce Wiley, 2006 Some things you should know Has solutions for only odd problems. No table of contents, and no distinct indicator for each individual section or chapter so finding the section you want to look for is a bit of a hassle. Examples were a little vague at times and I was forced to extrapolate portions myself. It gives you the basics and then expects you to apply what you've learned to new ways of looking at it.
