Stressing electronic measurements, this edition deals in considerable detail with the many aspects of digital instrumentation currently used in industry for engineering measurements and process control. New features include equipment used to manage different procedures, electronic and electrical principles important in understanding instrument systems operations, detailed descriptions of analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversions, ...

Comprehensive and well written
I bought this book as a supplementary reference for mechanics of materials, which I do at my job. The book is well written, with plenty of example problems sprinkled throughout. I also found this book to be very comprehensive. For example, I found material on the mechanics of shrink wrapping, which I don't see in many other books on strength of materials. The only thing I would fault is that ...

Very well writen, and easy to follow
I have used this book in an engineering mechanics class and I believe that it is an excellent teaching tool. The problems in the book relate well with the reading and though it requires a basic knowlege of statics, I felt it explained everything very well.

Statics and Mechanics Review
This book covers the material well. Some of the later chapters tend to loose the reader with a bunch of jargon. Overall, the book facilitated my learning of the material. I am still wondering about a solutions manual to accompany the text.

useful for eng. courses
these are 2 separate books, heavy weight & content! but understandable for students with a decent background & interest in physics. i took 'em in a month, don't do it! take 'em sometime in the 1st 2 yrs of your degree.

A multipurpose book
Not only does this book give you comprehensive information on experimental techniques, it also gives you the fundamentals of elasticity that are necessary. This is important because even before you measure stresses or strains, you need to know what they are likely to be. (normal,shear,+/- etc) Apart from this, it is the best reference for photoelastic and optical methods of stress analysis. ...

Excellent, Thourough Statics Text
The greatest feature of this book is the generous use of examples throughout. For every type of problem, there is some close example that you can refer to. Even though I didn't particularly enjoy the class for which this text was assigned, I think that the book itself is a great resource, and should be recognized as so.
