Don't bother with other baby name books!
This book is my favorite mom-to-be gift! What do you need in a baby name book? Sure, meanings can be fun and country of origin can help weed out certain things, but what we were most interested in was what connotations certain names bring to people. How popular is it? -- This book has charts that show you a name's popularity over the last 100 years. What other names are like it? -- This ...

Interesting Collection of Names
I recommend this book for anyone searching for a name for a new baby, or even for a story they are writing. The lists (of popular names, according to categories) are especially helpful in narrowing down to the right name.

A sure fire giggler
Whenever we have guests over who are willing to read books to our kids (relatives and close friends!) we always put this one in the stack. It's such a fun book to read outloud, and fun to listen to others read it for the first time as they can't help but laugh as they turn through it. We'll save it for our kids to read to their own some day.

Love this book!
I use this book as a reference often. I have purchased it for friends having babies, but it is broader than that. If you are a dreamer, there may be hidden meaning in a name. If you are into people and like to understand them better, this may be helpful. Not only does it give the meaning of the name, but also the renewed meaning with promise.

Great book if you are struggling with choosing a name!
I almost didn't pick up this book in the bookstore. I mean, I figure any book that actually gives itself the moniker of "cool" would by default NOT be cool, right? Plus, there are tons of free website with lists of names, so why would I need to buy a book? But I started thumbing through it, showed it to my husband and we decided it was exceptional enough to buy it. The book is grouped into ...

The ONLY Baby Name Book for Book Lovers
I'm having my first child in a few weeks, and though I've perused other baby name books, _A is for Atticus_ is the ONLY book I keep coming back to. Craker's whit makes this an enjoyable read - I love her sassy style and opinions on the names, rather than just listing their meaning and moving on. The names suggested range from classic to edgy to silly - and what's a good book without all of those ...

The ultimate book of baby's names!
This was one of the most useful and interesting baby naming books I've read! This book is a jewel of a find! I've flipped through and purchased countless baby name books. This is BY FAR my favorite. It's perfectly organized, well-written, insightful and incredibly helpful. It goes into much more detail than the books that just list names. It includes thousands of names from all over the world ...

Great Bridal Shower Present
This little gem of a book is the perfect bridal shower present. Every baby should have it read to them over and over again. As the little one learns to turn pages (that's what the thick pages of a board book are for), he/she will also begin to hear and see that the world is a spiritual place with a lot of different spiritual expressions in it. That's a lot of value for about eight bucks.

Perfect Baby Name Book
So many baby name books just list names broken down into various categories and maybe they give you some details for the name (origin, pronunciation, etc.). I thought this book was great because it really gives you advice on naming your children. Plus it was fun and easy to read which is always good.

I found a name
This was the book I chose when I was expecting my first child, the doctor said back then I was having a little girl even without an ultrasound. I fell in love with this book over and over trying to figure out the best name for my baby and what the name meant. Yes it defines the name . I named my baby girl after my doctors daughter but my daughters name was in the book along with the definition. ...

Really Unique Book
This book is the PERFECT gift for "expecting" grandparents. It's logically organized by chapters of traditional names, foreign language names (including the likes of Cherokee and Cajun names), names that pop up unexpectedly and names that only children can come up with. The inside pages are formatted in a fun, colorful way (no dreary lists here!)with plenty of patterned pages and charming ...

A Fun Name Book - Where We Found OUR Sons Name!
This book was a lot more fun and complete than other baby name books. This is where we picked our new 3 week old son's name (Colton). The definitions and descriptions for names in this book are humorous and accurate, and the book has a "key" for names on the rise, decline, or are unisex. A great resource. If you're going to get only one baby name book, this is the one!

Couldn't put it down...
I cannot even begin to explain what a welcome the humor in this book was to me as I am hitting the Third Trimester in my pregnancy. AND I actually learned some things, took some notes and pointers, and honestly could relate to I'd say 99% of this book. To know that a real person has gone through these same things I'm going through really is a blessing, and certainly made me feel more at ease ...

It's About Time!
Finally. A new, one of the few , books out on the "spirit" of the name. My biggest question is methodology. How did you do it? How is the author so right-on with the name analysis? Where do you go to learn more about this type of study? This book got me hooked. There's more to a name then there appears to be. This book was the most useful out of all my 20 or 30 or so baby naming books. This ...
