A wonderful and charming story!
I loved this book! It is the story of three orphans, Pauline, Petrova, and Posy, who are adopted by an older man who is gone during most of the book. After going through most of the money that he has left for their care until his return, the three sisters attend a special school of the arts. There they can learn to act, dance, and sing; then they can get jobs in different performances making ...

a mom's review....
beautifully illustrated, heartwarming childrens stories. Even though the Angelina stories are geared towards girls, my little boy, at 8, enjoyed these as well, especially when mom read to him. These are good stories to read to your child at bedtime. The artwork is detailed and delightful to look at-you'll see new things each time you look, and children love that that every scene is filled ...

Wonderful gift for "Nana's"
My nine-year-old granddaughter is just starting ballet, with the help of me, her long-ago dancer "Nana." These Angelina Ballerina books make perfect gifts for her - thank you for making lots of t hem! We got this one first, before her first class, so that she could see some of the "steps." Since then I have given her more, and in fact just ordered another one. She always loves them, and so do ...

Fantastic!
I am NOT a dancer. I am just an advanced beginner in Yoga. I'm not sure how I found this book, but I'm more than glad I did. I have chronic lower back pain, and the excercises using balls are very therapeutic. Franklin's use of imagery, his explanations and wonderful drawings of anatomy are simply fantastic. I have found that just reading the book and not doing anything has helped ...

A mystery to keep you on your toes!
Once again, young Nancy Drew fans will follow along with the entire Clue Crew solving a mystery in an intriguing setting, especially fascinating to girls. There's a Cindarella ballet being staged, complete with glass slippers for Andrea, who has been cast as the lead. Of course, alls well that ends well -- but not before readers follow every twist and turn to the satisfying conclusion.

beautiful story from my childhood
it was christmas 1989 and before the holidays my grade 1 class was studying this book and we even saw the ballet downtown and I thought it was so pretty that my mom bought me the storybook and I really loved all the illustrations and my favourite parts were how big the candies were. I plan to see the ballet again if it plays again in my hometown this christmas.

Great for Girls Who Love To Draw Princessy Things!
My 8 year old daughter LOVES this book. She immediately started following the directions for drawing "Princesses in Gowns" and had instant success. The step-by-step is not bogged down with extra explanations that might be of great interest to older children, but would just be taking up space for kids who want to dive in and draw. There are plenty of variations on each drawing to give kids the ...

Books with a message!
This is a wonderful book series that teaches little girls their value in this world and where it comes from. I believe children should have a healthy self esteem but with humility. These books tell them that they are the most precious creations because they are children of God. I can't think of a better message! My daughter loves them because she is very much into dress-up and pretending to ...

Fabulous!
I cannot say enough good things about this book. I studied ballet for about twelve years when I was young and was asked to offer a ballet club in my school in the fall. This book lays out, class by class, how to train young dancers effectively. Included are photographs of correct positions and technique so even though my own is a little rusty I am able to show my students illustrations of what ...

A perfect book for your tutu wearing pre-schooler!
We first purchased this book a few years ago when our oldest daughter was about 3 1/2 years old and she would wear a tutu EVERY day to school, shopping, etc. She often looked "silly" (just like Tilly in the book) but she was happy and she loved the idea of being a ballerina. This book perfectly captured the intensity of her desire to dress how she wanted. It really was a precious time in her ...

A Must Buy
Rarely do I write in about purchases I've made, but In The Wings deserves mention. I bought this book for my daughter, a twelve-year old aspiring dancer, but when it arrived in the mail, I found myself completely immersed in it. I don't consider myself a ballet buff. What I immediately identified with was the dancers' devotion to their art. I loved the fact that Froman didn't portray this ...
