J'invente ma première bande dessinée1 review
François Dimberton, Dominique Hé

Vuibert, 2000

Auschwitz: Une bande dessinee (Atmospheres)7 reviews
Pascal Croci

Editions du Masque, 2000

Beautifully Haunting
it's a beautiful book,if you can call something like what happened at auschwitz anything but horrendous; sad and lingering. the graphics are drawn so startlingly they stay with you.

Sleepy River3 reviews
Hannah Bandes

Philomel, 1993

Beautifully illustrated and loved by my 8 month old
This book has turned out to be my son's favorite book. He loves books that rhyme, and the story takes you along a river at dusk to show your child what animals are around. It is a wonderful bedtime book, and I would highly recommend it for all ages of readers.

The Francophone Bande Dessinée (Faux Titre 265) (Faux Titre)1 review

Rodopi, 2005

Collection of critical essays
Purchased book believing it would provide survey history of topic. Book is actually an anthology of scholarly essays, some more penetrable than others, all academic in tone. My misapprehension of the book's content and subsequent disappointment with my purchase does not impinge upon my judgment of the book when I say that it is uneven, and the graphic materials are extremely poorly ...

Great Book and home
Thank you so much for offering this book. The info on how it came to be and background correspondence between Wright and the clients is very extinsive. I only regret the book dosen't give more photo's. The footnotes add a balance to the over all effect of the book. Anyone out there have more info on this house in Okemos Mich, please E-mail me at cdrhodes56@hotmail.com

James Sturm's America: God, Gold, and Golems1 review
James Sturm

Drawn and Quarterly, 2007

The other side of America
Three stories that show three totally different aspects of the American psyche. Though set in the past, they are as real today as they were then. One only has to watch the televangalists or the WWE to see these features alive and well. Bravo James Sturm for having the fortitude to tell these stories.

The Passions of Law (Critical America Series)1 review
Susan A. Bandes

NYU Press, 2000

Justice Is Not Blind
Any institution has its myths and legends. One of the most enduring myths in law is that good decision making is devoid of emotion. The image we have of justice is a blindfolded decision maker holding scales. Susan Bandes' book, The Passions of Law, explodes the myth that emotion has no place in law. She has collected essays from some of the most respected legal theorists, philosophers and ...

Reb Aharon's Treasure1 review
Hanna Bandes

Targum Press, 1994

A wonderful treasure!
Hanna Bandes shows herself to be a gifted story teller as she weaves a wonderful tale based on a Talmudic fable. The story is set in Israel in the third century, and follows a young, kind hearted Reb Aharon in his quest to marry and have a family. He uses a small treasure bequeathed to him by his father to purchase a larger treasure, which through a misunderstanding turns out to be a monkey! As ...
