Good Book
Mowday you did a great job painting a perfect picture of what a bunch of hoodlums can do when gone unchecked for so many years and I'm sure it continues (with some of the same bunch) even today!

My Review From planetill.com:
Every American city has its own unique underworld. Depending on how old that city is, its criminal history can be a vast and intricate tapestry. Collecting that history into a single, readable volume that doesn't overwhelm the reader is a Herculean task. Harder still is providing unbiased and accurate information from credible sources. You'd better be a focused and thorough journalist to ...

A Dictionary of Kinks for Nillas and Kinksters Alike!
I "stumbled" over the on-line version of this book and just had to have it. I am the FemDomme Founder and Creator of some great FemDomme on-line clubs and have a weekly fetish discussion topic. After coming up with a year's plus topics, I was wanting to "dig a little deeper" and get some more ideas. This is a fantastic book. If you are conservative, this book will make you feel even more ...

The Alternative for Cognitively-Oriented People
Virtually everyone knows of AA and its efforts to address problem drinking -- it is the largest, most visible and most accessible group, and the group that most entering recovery will either gravitate towards or be directed to by the therapy community. Yet, AA, for all of its benefits, doesn't work as a program for everyone -- particularly for those who are not spiritually inclined (and don't ...

Thorough and Unbiased Compendium
This book, over 800 pages in length, is undoubtedly the most complete one-volume collection of facts -- essential and trivial -- on the U.S. presidents available. It even provides biographical background on the candidates who failed to win the presidency. It is very fair and balanced, unlike "The Presidents Fact Book" by Roger Matuz which has marvelous illustrations but is decidedly biased in ...

This Book Saved Me from the Siren Song of the 60's
Isn't that an odd thing to say about a book whose title starts with the word "sex?" Well, around 1964 one of my parents brought this book home, although neither of them would ever confess to the deed. Whoever it was, they did me a big favor. When the folks weren't watching, I swiped the book and devoured it in a single long sitting. Helen Gurley Brown should have entitled this ...

Very Good Book
This book speaks more to the philosophy of martial arts than how to do it. Even for someone who does not practice martial arts this book provides a sound philosophy about leading a moral and rewarding lifestyle. Have read through multiple times now.

Very well written and topical book
While many may feel this book is too graphic and "racist" to be available, I disagree. It tackles a subject that many either refuse to or are afraid to tackle....the subject of race and Jewish Supremacy. I would highly recommend it for any and all who are of an open mind. And just remember while it is itself fiction, it is a very real topic.

Very Good Book
I used this book for my class on Nineteenth Century Europe. We started in 1815 following the fall of Napoleon and ended on the verge of World War I. This is a very good book and it covers all the information on this very critical time period in European History. The Nineteenth Century came after the French Revolution and before the First World War and was much different from both the 18th and ...

I'm not into the habit of giving out 5 stars but...
This book was entirely engrossing! I admit that I read quite often but it's not very common for me to read a book in two sittings - and with this book, it was almost impossible NOT to read it this fast. As the synopsis tells you above, this book is about a brilliant, intelligent, and funny cop who dealt with some of New York's most viscous criminals during its most brutal time. What you get ...

Excellent, essential reading for the future of your health & wellness.
Hello, I just finished an exciting & terrifying read by Nancy Deville called Death by Supermarket. It's one thing to read a book & take it for granted but if you spend some time & research the reality, it's far worse than Nancy writes about. A visit to the CDC website, pick any subject of illness & you will see that everything is exploding, not one CDC monitored illness is declining. This ...

Let's be honest...
Can everyone please start talking honestly about Zionism, what they and the Christian Zionists in Britian did to the Palestinians, and do to this day? It is history! And yet, the Zionists have been able to make "Holocaust Denial" (questioning any aspect of the Holocaust at all) ILLEGAL in Germany as well as other places. The Auschwitz Memorial has lowered its number killed to 1.5 million ...

Gangster City
I loved this book! Their are many reasons, but the main reason is I found the author to be investgative as well as just telling stories about gangsters. He doesnt give you the usual already told before versions that some other authers do by quoting other books. He actually questions them and gives credible and rational reasons. For example, it is widely known that Lucky Luciano set up Joe ...

Liked it... after Page 25
Overall, I liked it a lot. It is interesting reading and - at least in parts - a useful historical reference. The book's opening, which deals with the Italian gangsters of East Harlem in the 1900s, contains some inaccuracies about the Morello-Terranova clan (The Morello family was certainly NOT the "first established Italian American Mafia family;" Giuseppe Morello and Peter Morello were the ...

"I have a rendezvous with Death At some disputed barricade, When Spring comes back with rustling shade...."
Set in the battlefields of the Ypres Salient, 1917, Anne Perry's "At Some Disputed Barricade" is not only an unusual murder mystery, it is also historical fiction at its best. The author's description of the Great War's Western Front and the horrors of trench warfare is so visceral that the reader feels, at times, like a witness to the fighting, suffering and endless slaughter. But don't be put ...

WONDERFUL 28 - COURSE MEAL
`Surviving James Dean' is a must-read for any Dean fan who might appreciate the book's deft writing, its sometimes controversial perspective, and its fascinating storyline. As a longtime devotee who has watched Jimmy's films more times than I can recall - and who has read more than a few biographies - nothing (in my opinion) approaches the scope and breadth of this true account by Dean's best ...

Texas Mob Boss in Dallas & Las Vegas
If you have found yourself in Soprano-withdrawal, this book is for you. "I'll Do My Own Damn Killin'" is a raucous gangland tale of a long and bitter feud between two former partners for control of the Dallas gambling scene of the 1930s and 40s. Most people know Lester Ben Binion as the Las Vegas icon who owned some of the early casinos there, with the downtown Horseshoe Club being the most ...
