A WWII Must
Very informative about a group of soldiers from the beginnings of boot camp to the jump behind enemy lines at Normandy, all the way to Hitler's secret bunker. A very good Stephen Ambrose book that everyone should read to get a perspective on WWII.

Understanding Produces Residual Victories!
In this book Joyce Meyer reveals little known truths that empower us to beat the enemy in our most crucial battle place - Our Minds. By uncovering the tactics of satan and helping us to identify the avenues that we allow him to gain access to us, she skillfully educates us on how to instantly recognize his work and nullify it's power in our lives. Taking control of our thought life is paramount ...

Fall in love with Scotland!
If you are lucky, you have read a book that made such an impact on you that it will never be forgotten. A book that makes you look at everything in a different light. This is that book. After having read this a few years back, I fell in love with Scotland. Sure, the story grips you from the start but the picture that Gabaldon paints of Scotland, the Highlands and its people, will stay with ...

Beautiful Companion to the Novels - Buy the Hardcover
This is a beautifully made companion piece to the novels. The pictures are gorgeous, and the book itself is well made. I'm not going to spoil the stories, but there are battles that someone who has read all the books will remember and battles from long ago in the Clans' histories. All of the vignettes make the most of what works best in the Warriors books: the action sequences. The fights ...

The Complete Charles Dickens Collection (51 books)
The Complete Charles Dickens Collections (51 books) is a deal! I purchased this for my Kindle DX for only $1! It will keep me in books for a long time! Being written over 100 years ago, the reading is not as fast or smooth as we are used to, but it is very enjoyable. It's nice to read a few "classics" mixed into the modern novels that we read today. It's a "must have" for readers of all sorts ...

E.B. Sledge is a God amoung mere mortals!
How anybody survived the conflicts and still keep their humanity is past my understanding. Sledgehammer tells the story with out holding any detail back, this is not a book for the weak of heart.

Nathaniel Phibrick once again brings us down the dusty trail to the Little Bighorn and the death of General Custer. Philbrick does an excellent job of chronicling the campaign. He tells a good story utilizing first hand accounts from both sides of a story that has been told over and over again. The best point of the book was the incorporation of maps within the text so that you did not ...

A Must for all writers or anyone struggling with creative resistance
"The War of Art" could be subtitled the Book of Common Prayer for Procrastinators (especially writers). It has a permanent place on my nightstand, though it sometimes migrates to my desk and has even accompanied me on vacations and writers' retreats. Steven Pressfield tells it like it is when it comes to the internal battles that take place inside the will and heart of the creative person, and ...
Battle Cry of Freedom : The Civil War Era

Oxford Press, 2003
Great comprehensive political and military history
This book is a political and military history at its best. As many reviewers have already commented, for a one-volume item this is probably the best. McPherson uses a chronological approach to cover the war's background, battles, political developments and intrigue, characters, and much more. The dispassionate treatment of how slavery was only a detonator excuse (the real reasons are much ...

not only one of the greatest Civil War novels I've ever read, but one of the greatest novels I've ever read.
One of the most brilliant, moving, extraordinary, and beautiful novels I have ever read, The Killer Angels details the events of the Battle of Gettysburg from the perspective of the men who fought it. Union soldier Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain is a professor turned soldier that will make a brilliant tactical move out of desperation, a move that not only will win the battle but perhaps the war. ...

Excellent!
I'm not much of a reader, but this book was one I NEEDED to read and enjoyed doing it at the same time. If you are struggling with this in your life don't hesitate. Although the book is directed towards married men. It also applies to single men like myself. I'm about to marry the most beautiful and loving woman and I don't need sexual sin in my life EVER! A real man would strive to be sexually ...
