Food for your brains
This book is good. Maybe I don't even understand how good it is. The way Taleb is writing gets to your ego; he feels so cocky. But, yes, man has a point. I started to laugh to myself and to my capabilities of "estimating" and even "thinking" while reading this book. Taleb has interesting view point to life; don't try to predict it, or forecast it, life will fool you anyway, sucker! Don't believe ...

Awesome Advice
I've already made money from Tory's awesome advice in two areas: adding AdSense to my website which brings me money every month and with Alpine Access, which I loooove. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to make some money at home.

The Digital Photography Book
Take this little book on every photo trip you go on because you won't know what to do without it. Each page has one "how to" technique on it. Look up what you want to do, say "I want the background sharp" & he tells you what to do, if you need the technical reason you can look it up later in another book. This is a have to have.

AMAZING--not about slides, about mind to mind communication
I just destroyed this book with folded pages and ink annotations, so the perfectionists out there may want to order two copies, one for eating and one for sharing. The price is phenomenally reasonable, especially for something that is all color and totally elegant. This is not about powerpoint slides. If anything, it is a very subtle but explicit critique of how retarded they still are (e.g. ...

Great Book for Photoshop Beginners
I previously took a Photoshop class and really did not feel I had a very good understanding of the program. This book takes you step by step through th program. I think I learned more from the book than I did the class!

I have working in marketing for years and have even dabbled in new marketing, social media and the like. Best book out there for us beginner/intermediates
Read J Boones description for an accurate take on Scotts book. BUT the only thing I disagree with is I like the humour aspect. I love Scotts books. The way he writes. I find it easy to follow. I found I was talking aloud as I read this book. I would say "Huh?!" and in the very next sentence Scott would write, "I bet you are saying HUH? right now" Then he would go and clearly explain to me ...

iPhone - The Unmissable Manual
David Pogue's independant manual for the iPhone is, quite simply, a book you have to read if you have an iPhone - or are thinking of getting one. When you invest in an iPhone, one of the first things you'll notice as you open the box is the absence of a conventional instruction manual - especially after the ever-increasingly thick tomes supplied with Nokia et al. So whereas the iPhone is ...

I Passed the PMP today thanks mostly to this book.
Rita's PMP Exam Prep book is all you need to pass the exam. But you need to know if backward and forward. Highlight and scribble all over this book as you go through it. I never read the tedious PMBOK guide, but instead went straight to this book to do my studying. The test questions at the end of the chapters are similar to what you would expect on the exam. I did also buy PM FASTrack:PMP ...

One of the best books I have seen on digital photography editing
I have a common complaint about most Photoshop and Lightroom books: they all go over the same basic information. Information that I have already learned by myself simply by experimenting with the software. How many times can people write the same basic-to-intermediate information on how to organize files, set white balance, adjust contrast, etc.? I am already an intermediate Photoshop and ...
