Shadow Children
The Shadow Children boxed set by Margaret Peterson Haddix is a captivating series of stories about the life of "illegal" third children. I purchased the the set for my daughter and found myself reading the entire series unable to put the books down. Haddix leaves the reader wanting more with each book in the series!

The Dance of Connection
This author, Harriet Lerner, Ph.D., was recommended to me by a friend. She thought it might help me in my sturggle to resolve a marital issue I have been having. This book did, indeed, offer valuable insights into how families interact and interconnect, from ancestral beginnings that influence us up through the generations. It helped me realize that many of my patterns of interacting with the men ...

Thank-you Debbie for writing this, this has been a very healing book. I wouldn't have asked for adultery in my marriage. But what Satan plans for evil, God can turn out for good. My husband and I have learned so much more about each other through this. Now we can use the new ways we've learned to make better parents and spouses. It feels so good to let go of my control to God and actually ...

Her story- U.S. Government versus Valerie
This isn't a spy-intrigue-action book, so please don't expect it to be. It's Valerie Plame Wilson's story about ow she happened to become a CIA agent, what it took to reach the levels in the institution that she did. How the scandal started who was and wasn't involved. She explains how the government managed to touch every part of her being to her personal life, social life, professional life, ...

Real Help When You Need It Most
I have read over a dozen books about infidelity, but this one is "real" and the best money I spent short of counseling. Highly recommended for anyone dealing with recovery. No psycho-babble, no blaming, no excuses, just excellent advice from an author who has been there. A wonderful resource.

Compelling, intelligent and complex
This book might not be your best first introduction to eating disorders, but if you are somewhat familiar with the subject, Kathryn J. Zerbe adds tons of new insights. Especially helpful are the sections on eating disorders accompanied by other psychiatric problems, and the sections on the relationships between the mother/daughter and the father/daughter in connection to developing eating ...

Buddhism Betrayed
All religions are perverted by some of its followers, be it the Islamic extremists in the mid-east, or the Christian and Hindu Fundamentalists in other places. This is indeed regrettable, because Religions in general provide a moral anchor for the majority of people on this earth, to live good lives. Buddhism, one of the greatest philosophies of all times, has stayed clear of this type of ...

what have we become? Doctors on call to determine how much pain a person can endure for maximum intelligence milking? Or for sadistic purposes? Read Orwell's 1984 on the sadistic use of torture, for starters. And here we have doctors ASSISTING the administration of pain rather than relieving suffering and sickness. Here we have doctors FORCING harmful, unwanted and unnecessary procedures ...

Excellent, Beautiful, Wonderful Story.
This is one I borrowed from the library but definately will buy to add to my collection. I read this leisurely in 4 days staying up pretty late on the 4th day trying to finish it. It is amazing what someone can get through when God is carrying them. I am astonished and happily excited by a story like this one. Thank You for sharing Mrs. Brookshire.

The Yin & Yang of Judas Iscariot
Professor Ehrman gave a fascinating account on his personal involvement in Gospel of Judas, the long lost scripture. In this book, he did not render a direct translation from Coptic writings. Instead, he compared and contrasted Paul's writing with the later four Gospels. With his scholar study work, he presented an unorthodox Judas Iscariot contrary to the familiar image of a greedy, evil, ...

Can the past be prologue?
Having been involved in intelligence work early in my life and having kept watching intel shenanigans, a book about the secret war against the Jews got my attention and I had an opportunity to read and research much of its contents. I found answers to questions I had not found since the creation of Israel. Why would such a widely divergent group of political leaders suddenly see eye to eye and ...

Excellent Book.........!
I am from Ogaden, the Somali region still occupied by Ethiopia, and Eritrea's tortured history is pretty similar to ours. When I bought the book, I Didn't Do It For You, and read John Le carre's powerful commendation on the cover, I took his comments with a grain of salt, thinking he was putting a good word for a colleague. However as I delved into the book, I was surprised to find every ...

Great book despite current family/business problems
I recently read Betrayed! in a one day time frame. I cried as the father recalled the days - years ago - that God dealt with their hearts and through scripture demonstrated His plan of salvation. Currently there appears to be a shadow cast on the author - his family and ministry. It sounds as though there have been problems. Nevertheless, this book is scriptural. It doesn't sound as ...
