Still Magic After All These Years
"Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1958) was a novella I read when it first came out, and this is my first rereading in low these many years. It has aged fairly well. The style is simple, straightforward, almost Hemingwayish. As objects of mirth, outlandish, eccentric, iconoclastic, bigger-than-life characters like Holly Golightly, My Sister Eileen, and Auntie Mame may have gone out of style and off the ...

Sci-fi writers, car salesmen and drawings of a**holes
I remember when Breakfast of Champions first came out and I rushed to buy it in hardcover. I'd been a fan of Kurt Vonnegut's since I'd first read Slaughterhouse 5 and Cats Cradle. In fact, Slaughterhouse 5 was then my favorite book of all time and I was sure no other book would ever surpass it at the pinnacle of my list of favorites. I dove into the pages of Breakfast of Champions and my initial ...

Complex romance with a heart!
What I love about Robin's books is that they are a romance with a twist--they make you think. It's not just a simple story. You really get tangled up in the emotions. It made me think and feel, and I liked that. Thanks for a great read!

A good introduction to living a peaceful life
Breakfast With Buddha is a novel but reads more like a diary. It is full of insight and is thought provoking. There is humor and sadness, excitement and contentment. Much like life, it is a roller coaster but the theme about living in the here and now comes through. I highly recommend this book.

What is cooking?
The real value in Miss Cunningham's books is her wholesome attitude to what cooking really means to all of us. As a young mother I repeatedly checked out The Breakfast Book at our local library, searching and reading it each time. Without preaching or or belaboring the point I learned of the gentle art of serving your family and creating a family table that bound us together. My copy of this ...

Great cookbook!
My husband has started fixing brunch every Sunday but, other than omelets or basic eggs, his repertoire was a bit thin. I gave him this book for his birthday and now, every weekend he uses this book and comes up with all kinds of neat and great tasting ideas. I strongly recommend that all women follow suit; it's wonderful sitting and reading the paper while my husband is slaving away in the ...

Pancakes for breakfast..yum!
Not only is this book a great tool for developing language, but it also has a delicious pancake recipe. The recipe can also be used for those with gluten intolerance by substituting Dolmata Flour for the other flour. Just add a little less flour. My kids love reading the book and then making the pancakes! YUM!

A MUST for any screenwriter ready to go beyond their script
This is by far the best, most well-written and most practical book to be written, by a screenwriter, for screenwriters, on the business of being a screenwriter. Many screenwriters make the mistake of thinking that they can leave the 'dirty business' of dollars and cents, and wheeling dealing to their agent. Their job after all is just to write surely? But a writer who understands how the industry ...

A MUST HAVE!!
This book was recommended to me by a B&B owner in Niagara On The Lake. After opening my own B&B I purchased a copy for myself. I consider it my "bible" of breakfast cookbooks. The recipes are varied, not complicated or time consuming and most important...they work!! My friend has just opened up a B&B and I purchased the book for her. I highly recommend it.

A Truly Professional Approach
If you're planning to open a bed and breakfast as a hobby or with the notion that "you're not really running a business, you're just making profits in your free time," this is not the book for you. This book covers almost all potential areas that you'll need to know to run a professional B&B, and the level of detail will quickly dissuade anyone who isn't serious. That having been said, anyone ...

MY BOY LOVES READING IT
My 1st grader hates to put it down, he would rather read Magic Tree House books, than play video games. He even reads them to his class and explains the story for show and tell. In his kindergarten class the teacher would also let him read the Magic Tree House books out loud, not to give her a break, but to promote reading out loud. Great books!

This book has the nicest page layout of photographs and recipes I've seen in a long time. It has recipes for simple things like different kinds of hot cocoa to cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, and tarts. The picture of the apple walnut muffins makes me salivate! This would make a great gift.

Great B&B cookbook
I have plenty of cookbooks, but this was my main standby in the first year of our bed and breakfast. The sausage gravy, waffles and granola never fail to please our guests. And none of the recipes are too complicated to make in a hurry in the morning. I wish the book were totally focused on breakfast, because we don't serve brunch. But if we did, this book would be perfect and cover all the ...

Great Writing
This is a short novella, and a page turner set in New York city in the 1950s or late 1940s. Truman Capote, 1924 to 1984, is a well know American writer. I have read a number of his works including his famous In Cold Blood, a book that I recommend highly. Also, I read some of his early work including Other Voices, Other Rooms, and many of his short stories. Generally, he is regarded as an ...
