this one doesn't dissapoint
This is one great book, but don't read it unless you've read 1-4, because you need the info from those books so your not too confused. Ryushi, along with Whist, continues his quest for revenge on his brother, Takami, for betraying Parakka and killing his father. Ryushi wants revenge, but he is not blinded by it, and he is being very careful, espesially since the untrustworthy and dangerous Whist ...

Excellent Read
This is a terrific book. I learned a lot about Cuba during the takeover by Castro. I also deeply cared about the characters of the book. My book group has 12 members in it and we all loved the book. That is a rare situation. I thought that the book was well written and kept interest level at a high. You will not be disappointed

A Honest, Beautiful Memoir by an amazing person
Not My Turn To Die is a personal account of Savo Heleta who survived the Bosnian Conflict as a teenager. In many ways, we're blessed that Savo witnessed the best and the worst of humanity as a young Serb growing up in fear in the Muslim-controlled city of Gorazde. Whereas other books and memoirs tend to explain the political or religious conflicts of why the Bosnia civil war happened and ...

When Broken Glass Floats
This might be the best book I've read dealing with SEA. She brings a prospective that westerners couldn't. While this is a very sad book, her life seems to have a happy conclusion in Oregon. She endured the Khmer Rouge as a young girl and has become victorious. Thank you for writing this book.

the intro 2 a clasic
This is the first of the seven broken sky books. The twins, Ryushi and Kia, have lived their sixteen-winter life shelted from the outside world. Each of them have six spirt stones(stones that give the bearer magical powers and are placed by a deliverer in a ceremony called a pah'nu'kah) placed down their spine. Sobering
I really enjoyed this book. As the child of a recovering alcoholic, I could relate to the feelings Leah's loved ones were dealing with as she was entering her life of sobriety. It was also eye opening for me to "see" alcoholism from the alcoholic's point of view. I fell in love with Leah instantly and cheered for her from beginning to end. This story was well written and the characters were ...

My Beautiful Broken Shell
I rediscovered this little book on a shelf recently. I took the time to sit down and read it and look at the beautiful artwork. In these very unsure times I think this little book is a must. Read as a morning vesper to start each day with the assurance that we are all broken shells, but we each have a purpose on this earth.

International Baccalaureate
A truly moving book about the mission of the International Baccalaureate Organization. The ability to look at someone who looks different than you do, speaks a different language than you do, and believes in different values than you do and yet see yourself in that other person. That is what makes for a truly internationally minded human. Old turtle tells her story so well and in that story is ...

Pure Poetry
I've read a number of headache books and patient memoirs, but not one of them has been anything like Lynne Greenberg's The Body Broken. Twenty-two years after a seemingly miraculous full recovery from breaking her neck in a car accident, Lynne Greenberg was struck with a severe headache that has not gone away since. In The Body Broken she chronicles her experience with this unrelenting ...

A must-read for everyone!
This book tells the story of a woman who overcame many obstacles and did so with candor, wit, tenacity, and a zest for life. If anyone is looking for a book you won't be able to put down, I suggest Arlene O'Neil's triumph over tragedy in "Broken Spokes." Five stars indeed!

Broken Heart On Hold
During the most difficult time of my life, this book became a best friend. Linda described the multitude of emotions I feel in a way I could not, and showed me that she has been where I am now. Her insight and her faith gave me renewed hope, and I found comfort reading her book. When I am down, I open it and read. When I am confused, I open it and read. When I am ready to throw in the towel, ...

A Dose of Optimism
These are tough days for those of us who care about wild places. Our society is embarked on a blind crusade to fragment, pave and develop landscapes at all possible speed. Our environmental movement is stuck in the mud, beset with clashing personalities, fighting the wrong battles, and spending more time squabbling with its natural allies than fighting real foes. Into this scene comes a book ...

Absolutely beautiful!
Calling Kahlil Gibran a poet is an understatement and this short story proves it. It is a simple story but one that will break your heart. Still, you will be glad you read it...(experienced it rather)! It will take you to another world, another era, stimulate your mind and touch your heart.

Being Vulnerable as a Leader and Christian
I found "Touch: Pressing Against the Wounds of a Broken World" to be a fun and easy read, well rooted in scripture. Rudy pulls from his experience and the wise words of others from accross the theological spectrum quoting liberally from church leaders as diverse as John Piper and John Wesley. Touch tells 3 primary stories: 1. Rudy's Journey from "the chief of sinners" to a prominent ...
