All you need to be CRCP Certified
This textbook contains everything the reader will need to gain Crystal Reports Certified Professional (CRCP) certification. I used the textbook to take all three exams, and passed them all within twelve weeks. The only other source of information I used was the on-line documentation provided with the product (and I used that as a secondary reference only). Note that I did not take any ...

Excellent Coverage and Design
Crystal Reports: A Beginner's Guide covers everything and more that I wanted to learn about Crystal Reports. The information is easy to digest and there are regular 1-Minute checks along the way. Hands-on experience, in the form of Projects, are dispersed through each chapter (the completed projects can be downloaded from the web). Answers to the Mastery Checks, at the end of every chapter, are ...

Book Useful and Author Helpful - exactly what we need!
We've have been buying the Creating Documents with Business Objects books for years. Whenever we hire a new employee, we order the Web Intelligence book, and if they are to make universes, they also get the Designer book. This combination has worked very well for our employees. Recently, we ordered the CBT versions of these books and were surprised to see that we still got the same book. We ...

Book, good. Crystal Reports, bad.
I had Crystal Reports more than probably anything on the planet. I am biased towards web reporting in that it is where I have to spend my time. Crystal Reports itself may be fantastic in other formats, but for the web reporting, it is horrible. That said, it also has some pretty poor documentation and support, so that means books like this are essential. So the book itself is fantastic and ...

Helped me get my mind around the overall concepts in BusinessObjects...
One of the main reasons I like the Dummies series is that it helps me to know what I don't know. When I have no background on the overall structure of a technology, I find that a Dummies book helps me to get the right mental framework so I can start to dive in at a more technical level. BusinessObjects XI Release 2 For Dummies by Derek Torres, Stuart Mudie, and Julie Albaret once again filled ...

Wonderful resource!
I was thrilled when I heard that a book was being published on Business Objects! After getting a copy of Cindi Howson's book, I was even more pleased! It is truly a very comprehensive guide on how to use Business Objects. It does a good job of explaining the concepts behind business intelligence as well the the different Business Objects products. I think every person who uses Business ...

Business Objects Reference
If you are new to Business Objects and need a good understanding of what Business objects does and can do then this is an excellent book. Where I work we have purchased several copies of this book. Doesn't go into tremendous detail on how to do some of the more complicated concepts of Business Objects but is more than enough to get you started.

The best book available for Crystal Enterprise
The company I work for started a Crystal Enterprise project several months ago. I can honestly say that we would have been unable to complete the project if we did not have this book. It really takes you step-by-step in an easily readable format through what needs to be done. Also, the examples used all worked properly (a problem with many other computer books) and were extremely relevant. ...

Good beginners book
This is a good beginners book for "potential/future" users of Business Objects. Those who are currently using Business Objects and/or have been through the formal training class will find it simplistic and lacking enough detail to actually jump and start getting results with the product. The description found on page 3 of the introduction is a much better indicator of the ...

Great Book!
I have many copies of this book for my users, and it is used by my organization in instructor-led training. It is well thought out, contains many pictures for a follow-along approach and is certainly informative. I noticed that the European style of writing has been changed since their v5 edition (although I personally thought it was charming). Overall a great book to have!

Useful well written introduction to BO
Excellent book - really liked the graphics on every page. Examples are clear and there is lots of useful material to read through. I used it as a course to begin with and now find myself referring back to examples and tips repeatedly. I did not notice any abundance of spelling mistakes referred to by other amazon reviewers, I did notice however a European style of writing but that can hardly be ...

Outstanding Business Objects Training & Reference Tool!
I've been following Robert Schmidt's books since Business Objects version 4.1, and he continues to impress. Business Objects is a very powerful query tool, but putting the information in a formatted, concise report can prove difficult. Robert Schmidt does a fantastic job of walking a user through the different types of reports, while giving helpful hints (and warnings about potential pitfalls) ...
