Excellent, Beautiful, Wonderful Story.
This is one I borrowed from the library but definately will buy to add to my collection. I read this leisurely in 4 days staying up pretty late on the 4th day trying to finish it. It is amazing what someone can get through when God is carrying them. I am astonished and happily excited by a story like this one. Thank You for sharing Mrs. Brookshire.

The best book on discipleship that I've ever read!
Pastor Kary's book is a must-read for every born-again believer. He takes the Word of God and describes the four components of discipleship- knowing, doing, being and reproducing. Anyone who wants to be a whole-hearted follower of Jesus Christ should read this incredibly well-written book.

A 5-Star Author
I can see why Ted Dekker can be considered the next big thing in Christian fiction! He has a captivating way of writing, with a carefully thought-out plot. Some books have too much fluff and move too slowly. Ted Dekker's talented story moves at an easy, although exciting pace. He used enough military and political jargon to give it depth and reality. There was a good amount of "spiritual talk" ...

Some people are never happy!
I just happened to finish reading Ray Fraser's "Featherless Wings" and wanted to see how his book was doing on amazon.com. As is habit, I checked all his books for rankings. You can imagine my surprise when I saw the review from the reader in Vermont. It would appear that the writer was a woman, but one can never tell. The reviewer has a note that says "check all my reviews." Before you ...

A book that's ahead of it's time
I really recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject. His case histories are a book in themselves and capture the soul of a psychopath so well. A very thorough book that examines every aspect of the condition, I am impressed by his attempt to even explore historical and literary references. Ahead of it's time because his conclusions cannot be shaken even now. A much better book than ...

Informative and In-Depth! A Good Biography to Start Learning About the Life of Johnny Cash.
Before I read this book, THE MAN CALLED CASH, by Steve Turner, from 2004, I had also read the 1997 book called CASH: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY (with Patrick Carr). They both cover similar ground. The 1997 book seems more homey, like Johnny Cash is talking to you, but this book, by Steve Turner, seems more accurate. Having know Johnny and his family for over a decade, author Steve Turner was actually ...

Deeply Grateful
If I had only one book to buy in my entire life, This Thing Called You would be the one. No other book that I've read so clearly speaks the truth about who each of us is and our place in the universe. And it's all about merely changing our minds, changing our attitudes towards life. Pretty simple stuff, really. But unbelievably powerful and attainable for everyone. Don't miss this book!

Called to Communion: Understanding the Church Today starts off with three theology lectures for a course on universal vs. particular Churches for bishops in Brazil, followed by an address to the Synod of Bishops on the priesthood, a talk on ecclesial reform to conclude an annual meeting in Rimini, and finally a homily preached at a seminary in Philadelphia which is added to "clarify once more the ...

New Age From the Mouth of An Arab
Apparently the author appreciates his early upbringing as a Christian who was immersed in the Arabic Bible. From there he patterns his new "gospel" in which he preaches reincarnation, transmigration of souls and all the New Age stuff. He tries to get Mirdad, the hero, to mimic Jesus' teaching style but here everybody is a god and god is everybody, mesh-mash. I enjoy some of the sayings in Arabic, ...

Another Great Social History Book
A fascinating account of the homes folks lived in 200 years ago and what each space and room in the home was used for. Mr. Larkin vividly describes by area (New England, the Middle States, the Southern States, and the Western States - as far as what was considered west by 1840), how the people of the past utilized their living spaces. It also describes in detail the many different styles of ...
