Outstanding baseball story - and so much more.

In fact, it seems like everything about his life will be different. His father can't hide the pity and guilt he feels over Norm's accident. excellent regional police procedural
Vermont Bureau of Investigation (VBI) Joe Gunther receives the call that he loathes hearing; a cop was killed in the line of duty. Catch Me If You Can: The True Story of a Real Fake282 reviews
Stan Redding, Frank W. Abagnale

Broadway, 2000

A Real Kick in the Head
I gave it 4 stars only because I reserve 5-star ratings for books I could not have lived without reading, so to speak. But it is a fascinating account, and if you like knowing that it's a big world out there with people doing interesting things, you'll probably enjoy this book. Abagnale is obviously intelligent and likes to have fun -- an infectious combination. I'm interested now in reading his ...

The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down214 reviews
Anne Fadiman

Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1998

Eye Opening
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down chronicles the story of a little epileptic Hmong girl whose family does not accept the ways of the Western world and Western medicine. After reading this book, I find that I am more understanding to other cultures and ways of life. I too held almost an elitist opinion of the "American Way". This book gives a glimpse into the other side of the story. ...

Catch-22: A Novel (Simon & Schuster Classics)828 reviews
Joseph Heller

Simon & Schuster, 1999

Best Book I Ever Read
Catch-22 is a jarring, thrilling, hysterical exposition of the oppression and dominance which pervades lives and lifestyles in the modern era. Full of classic dialogue, superb characters, wonderfully narrated, Catch-22 may be the best book ever written. A heartbreaking achievement of staggering genius!

Catch Them Being Good: Everything You Need to Know to Successfully Coach Girls3 reviews
Tony DiCicco, Colleen Hacker, ...

Penguin (Non-Classics), 2003

My Experience
Ok, this book is wonderful. Tony and Colleen put it all together for you coaches and parents out there! The truth in black and white. I am a product of this type of coaching. I was blessed to have been a soccer player who was led by Dr. Colleen Hacker at Pacific Lutheran University. She caught me being good more often than bad and I thrived mostly as a young woman but also on the soccer field. ...

Night Catch19 reviews
Brenda Ehrmantraut

Bubble Gum Pr, 2005

A great deployment book for any service.
My husband will soon leave for Kuwait, leaving behind our 4 yo daughter and me. I've been researching various deployment books since we learned he was going. Overall, this is one of the best books. It is service neutral (which is difficult to find). The story is about love and separation more than the actual reason they are gone. The illustrations are lovely and typical of quality children's ...

Deadliest Catch: Desperate Hours10 reviews

Discovery Channel, 2008

Amazing Book
This is an amazing book. The stories are as harrowing as they are interesting. When you read this book you will have a renewed respect for these captains and their crews who brave the Bering Sea for our enjoyment of Alaskan King Crab. I don't want to spoil the book for those who haven't heard some of the stories before, but, reading the stories about shipping going down is especially ...

Catch Of The Day28 reviews
Kristan Higgins

HQN Books, 2007

Candy for the Imagination!
I've always wanted to be one of those people who could kill a book in one day. I wanted to be able to say, "I just couldn't put it down!" Well folks - now I can! "Catch of the Day" by Kristan Higgins is so much fun. It's not your typical, sappy romance novel. It's fun and enticing, and it really engages the reader. Higgins never stops pulling out the punches. She keeps you wondering what will ...

How to Catch a Star11 reviews

HarperCollins Children's Books, 2007

Great book for 2-3 year olds
Bought this for my 3 year old son a year ago. He just loves it! He asks for me to read it to him over and over again at bedtime. I bought it again a few weeks ago to give to another little boy along with another copy for a charity organization for the holidays. I think it's a wonderful book!

Catch a Fire: The Life of Bob Marley56 reviews

Holt Paperbacks, 2006

The Dream Of Lasting Peace, World Citizenship
The book title is also the name of the 1973 debut album on Island records for Bob Marley and The Wailers that brought the lyrics and sounds of reggae to an international audience. Originally published two years after Marley's death from cancer, the biography remains a great read due to the exhaustive research by author Timothy White. White had interviewed Marley from 1975-1981 and projects ...

Catch Me, Catch Me! A Thomas the Tank Engine Story (Pictureback(R))19 reviews
W. Rev Awdry

Random House Books for Young Readers, 1990

My 2 year old loves it!
My son loves this book, and constantly brings it to me to read. It's such a simple book, I think he can understand it easily. I'm guessing before too long, he's going to be able to almost read it on his own. I think it's a great book for beginning readers. I'm not very concerned about the message that it sends, I see it as an entertaining Thomas story. I just don't see it as a negative book.
