Ignore the Negative reviews; Diamond writes another MUST READ.
I will not write about the book in particular in this review; there are plenty of good reviews here that do that. What I am addressing with my review are the negative reviews that criticize Diamond as promoting some-kind of Liberal/ Eurocentric Agenda, or those reviews that claim Diamond missed some facts, or those that claim he is distorting the truth in some way. These are by the way, many of ...

The Gift of Independence
In a world where children have so little autonomy, my children found delight as they were given the choice to create their own adventure. To any parent who regularly encourages reading - this is a winner on so many levels, including being fun for the parent. Who wouldn't want to relive this great concept with their children. Fun! Fun! Fun!

One of the top books in the series
If you're not sure which one of the Choose Your Own Adventure series you should buy, I would definitely recommend this one. New readers will love the exciting plot, and older readers will enjoy the ability to pick their own ending. This story is centered around the search for the ancient city of Atlantis. There are lots of interesting sea creatures and exciting twists in the story. There is a ...

Start here!
If you are new to choose your own adventure, I recommend starting with these 4. They are the first in the new series, and are all individual books. I am pretty sure they are all reprints, and the art is definitely new, but they are a great place to start as they cover a wide range of topics. The bottom line is kids will eat these books up, not just because they are about great topics, with ...

RL 4 - 11, Excellent Book- Self Motivation for Reading
The Choose Your Own Adventure series is excellent to motivate your children and students to read. The book lets you make your own choices and find out what happens to your character. Kind of like a video game in a book. This particular one The Abominable Snowman is one of RA Montgomery's best and will be lauched on DVD in August of 2006. Imagine being able to make your own choices on DVD and in a ...

Good Choice for kids!
After this box set its only individual books. I'm not sure why there are no boxes for books 13+, but books 9-12 are here and ready to take their young readers as far as the furthest corners of the galaxy! What makes this collection so great is the choices it gives kids. Like the two previous, all the books have fun art and good writing, but it's the choices that sell this series. Set a stack ...

IT WORKS!!!
This method really works. It sounds logical in what it says to do. My husband and I desperately wanted a boy and we used Dr. Shettles method. I used the LH testing sticks and monitored my cervical fluid. We timed it just right and had intercourse on ovulation day. Just found out.....WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!!!

Pure Magic
I was so excited to see that the Choose Your Own Adventure company had created a series of books targeted for younger readers. My seven year old son was captivated by the idea that he could have a hand in guiding a story about having his very own robot. The color pictures were engaging, and the story lines kept my son reading over and over. Well done!!!

Another great set!

Kids and parents will love this book
This book is such a wonderful way to open up dialogue with yourchildren. They love to tell you what they would do and you get theopportunity to share your values at the same time. I really think this is a wonderful way to talk to your kids about peer pressure and right and wrong so they are prepared to make good decisions when the challenges actually arrive. I highly recommend this book to all ...

Best career book I've read, even at over 10 years old!
I was at first skeptical about this book -- it was written over 10 years ago, and books like What Color Is Your Parachute has a new version every single year! But while WCIYP isn't a bad book (the 2009 version I read in entirety), only this book has given me the tools to understand myself enough to find the career I can both ENJOY and BE GOOD AT. The author has some background in eastern ...

Totalitarian Freedom Forever
A cold war era vision of a future where the United States disintigrates into smaller regions, where one specifically in the west (called Dorado) falls into totalitarianism (!) complete with a stylized triangle shaped pinwheel symbol that implies a swastika. The reader is part of a rogue resistance group, whose over goal is to undermine the neofascist regime but more immediately - to escape (and ...

Exciting!
This book is one of the more creative ones in the Choose Your Own Adventure Series. Basically, YOU are born to parents of two different planets and you have to figure out which planet YOU want to be your home planet. I think this book really stands out in the series. I can remember being especially fascinated by it as a child. Most children wonder about outer space and aliens at some point, ...

Finally my random approach makes sense
What a relief. Finally I understand why I always feel like I'm swimming up stream. This is the first time I've read about an approach that considers my "random" style without telling me I need to do things like someone else and in a certain order. I appreciate the author's insight and understanding into the struggle you feel when "typical" approaches are not working. The exercises really help.
