Adobe InDesign CS3 Classroom in a Book11 reviews
Adobe Creative Team

Adobe Press, 2007

Adobe InDesign CS3 Classroom in a Book
This book is great. I can't see any other way to learn Indesign without it.It helps you work thorough documents using Indesign and by the end of the book you can use the program with little problem. It is like being in a classroom but the book is the instructor. Some of the terms used in the book are not the same as in the program but it was easy to find the right terms. Classroom Management for Middle and High School Teachers (with MyEducationLab) (8th Edition) (MyEducationLab ...8 reviews
Edmund T. Emmer, Carolyn M. Evertson

Allyn & Bacon, 2008

Classroom Management for Middle and High School Teachers (7th Edition)
I found this book to help a lot in preparing a behavior management plan. This was an area I felt school was weak in my studies at Georgia State. State has a great program, but this was an area I needed more help at. This book is filled with great examples of how other teachers have handled problem situations. Was worth the money.

How to Differentiate Instruction in Mixed Ability Classrooms (2nd Edition) (ASCD)13 reviews
Carol Ann Tomlinson

Assn for Supervision & Curric Development (ASCD), 2004

Great teaching strategy book.
I like the theory and implementation strategies behind this book! It was easy to read and understand, too. I bought it for an education/ teaching methods course and I've used it to write every lesson plan, unit plan since. It relates to the idea that classrooms are made up of so many diverse types of learners that you must try and vary your instruction. (It's a lot like Howard Gardner's "Ways ...

Classroom Management for Elementary Teachers (with MyEducationLab) (8th Edition) (MyEducationLab Series)8 reviews
Carolyn M. Evertson, Edmund T. Emmer

Allyn & Bacon, 2008

Great book BUT don't make the same mistake I did...
This is one of the most helpful texts that I have purchased in the past year. It is easy to read and gives lots of examples as well as many points to ponder. HOWEVER, (if it matters to you)- make sure that you do not get the BOOK ALONE version. There is an online component that you need an access code to, which doesn't come with the book unless you buy the other version (I believe it said ...

Margo A. Mastropieri, Thomas E. Scruggs

Prentice Hall, 2006

A Must Have textbook
This is the best textbook written on the subject. The illustrations, examples and content are so well written. This book is a mainstay for every teacher to use in their classroom. As a general education teacher, I feel confident to go into the classroom and teach with the knowledge that I gained from this textbook. It served me very well in my course. I recommend this to any special ed student, ...

Classroom Assessment: What Teachers Need to Know (5th Edition)8 reviews
W. James Popham

Allyn & Bacon, 2007

If you want to see improvement in your student's progress you've gotta get this book!!!!
Before reading this book, I was at a loss in my classroom as to how to use assessments to monitor progress, evaluate my instructional methods, and to be sure that students were mastering the content. Mr. Popham gives precise research based strategies to do ALL these things and MORE. Most books on assessment are dry and so dense you loathe having to read them but Mr. Popham exceeded my ...

Comprehensive Classroom Management: Creating Communities of Support and Solving Problems (8th Edition)3 reviews
Vernon Jones, Louise Jones

Allyn & Bacon, 2006

Truly comprehensive, informative, and well-researched!
I felt I should write this review after seeing the bad wrap it got from another reviewer. I am doing my thesis on classroom discipline and out of all the books I've read on the subject, this one gave me the best insight and critique of the history of discipline research as well as great ideas for teachers on how to go about creating their own classroom management plan. This book touched on all ...

I read this book through as soon as I received it. Tomlinson is well-respected in her field. Most everything I have read concerns gifted students. This is an excellent resource for ALL students. Differentiation is absolutely necessary in today's classrooms. If all students are to reach their full potential, we must meet them where they are -- and they are all over the place!
