These Men dared to sit on top of Rockets!
This is a comprehensive book about the Apollo space program that does an exceptional job of capturing one of the most incredible times in human history. It was a time when the belief was that we could do just about anything we set our minds to. Andrew Chaikin does an amazing job of capturing the courage, the commitment, the sacrifices, the driving motives and vision of the astronauts, ...

Charming
This book was recommended by a friend who has it and reads it to her granddaughter. I bought it to give as a gift to my granddaughter, but was so thrilled at the charming and spectacular content, I have kept it for myself. The pop ups have such amazing color and are on heavy enough paper that it should last a long time. I have been a great fan of all the Oz books (which I Have, some printed in ...

Prayers that Avail Much, 25th Anniversary Commemorative Gift Edition
This books shows you how to pray God's word over any situation you are going through. I always felt God's presence when I reminded Him of what His word said about the sitatuation. I have learned to pray more boldly and with confidence when I learned to pray according to His Word.

Authentic and Poetic - A Remarkable Story
I no longer remember where I stumbled across Vessel of Sadness. I recall that I was totally unfamiliar with this book and its author. I was puzzled by the title. But my attention was captured by the literary reviews on the back cover. "How have you said so much and involved me so deeply with so few words?" Gunnar Myrdahl, Nobel laureate. "One of the most sensitive and moving books of the ...

A materfully written and truly inspirational book!
A friend of mine introduced me to this book in April of this year. He told me it was unlike any book about the Pacific war that he had ever read. Although skeptical at first, I sill went ahead and purchased the book. I left it on my book-shelve for several months and forgot all about it. As I began packing up in July to move I noticed this book again, so I picked it up and began reading ...

After having a more than difficult time with my marriage, our Pastors recommended this as we reconcile, forgive and fulfill the call that God has on our lives. We just got this yester and it is just amazing. We tend to have difficulties coming up with the words to explain our feelings and ask for help, this solves it. We look forward to getting all of the Prayers that Avail Much (women, men, ...

Tenney does justice to an event all too often forgetten....
I just finished this book, and I must say I am inspired. Lester Tenney deserves an enormous amount of respect and admiration for what he endured and acomplished during his time as an american POW. While this is not exactly a full account of the Death March and the surrounding events filled with statistics and data, it is Tenney's first hand account that makes this horrendous event so palpable ...

Chillingly Clear Account of War on the Eastern Front
Awsome - the one word I use to describe this book. Debates exist whether this book is non-fiction or fiction mainly due to the inaccuracies regarding specific details, some minor such as uniform markings. However, after researching this topic I came across a letter to the Editor of "Military Review", printed in the March-April 1997 edition, by a Douglas E. Nash. Nash eventually located Sajer ...

Should be required reading for all RN's
This book should be required reading for all nurses in all nursing programs. It is an unspoken nursing student idea that when you graduate from your nursing program that you should, "know it all." This is unrealistic for the new/novice nurse. This book explains the process and gives comfort the the new nurse that expecting you to "know it all" is unreasonable and is not an expectation of the ...

Beautiful, patriotic, and informative
This beautiful book opens with Muņoz's first inspiring verse: Our flag is our country's symbol Of ideals that are meant to last It's a promise for our future A reminder of our past.... The accompanying illustration by Ralph Masiello shows a freshly whitewashed barn with an American flag gracing one side. A farmer's furrowed field, a vast blue sky and bucolic setting complete the scene. ...

Exhilirating
I read the entire book back in college. The approach to explaining quantum mechanics was so different from the other books I read back then. The derivation of the rotation matrices, the discussion of symmetry and superconductivity, among others, were simply breathtaking. Definitely a classic.

Everything you wanted to know about the movie
This commemorative book, published in 1992, certainly does its job of commemorating the movie Casablanca. It's a slender book with tons of photos of the actors, sets, and posters from the movie, and packed with everything you seemingly would want to know about it. You find out about what led to Casablanca's production, its inspiration, how the actors were chosen, the history occurring at the ...

A tale of simpler, less hectic days
After reading the first couple of chapters of THE LUCKY BASEBALL BAT, I had to go back to the copyright page to see just when this book was written. After all, the hero of the story, a young boy named Martin and his younger sister Jeannie are invited into the house of Barry Welton, a teenager they had just met after Martin had an unfortunate incident on the ball field that left him sad and ...

"Principia" for our times
Isaac Newton wrote "Principia" in the 1600's, and it was the definitive book on Physics, although it is basically unreadable. (Now, of course, it is also slightly outdated.) Feynman has done a better and much more complete job than Newton himself. Having said this, this is NOT a book for the layman. It appears simple: heavily conceptual, few equations, no homework problems at the end of each ...

The most definitive Royal Commemorative book I've seen.
This is the most complete Royal Commemorative book I have yet to come across. It shows color and black and white photos of Royal Commemorative collectables past and present. With descriptive information and value. I am a avid collector and I consider this book to be my Bible. A must have for anyone who collects or is simply interested in the British Monarchy.
