Life Changing and Beautiful
It is rare that a supposedly technical book really changes a reader's life. I can say, though, that after reading Tufte's books, my life is not the same. The complaints of the detracting reviewers are baseless if you understand the nature of this book. This book is the groundworks of a theory of seeing, of communicating through images. It is by no means a new theory. Throughout human history ...

J.C. Leyendecker
This is the best book available on one of the greatest illustrators of the early 20th century. The number of major illustrations by J.C. Leyendecker in this book is worth the price of the book by itself. The text is wonderful and knowledgable since it is written by the two founders of one the best museums in New England. The text is a little off base, in my opinion, when it comes to the ...

Helpful guide on how to incorporate simplicity into your product planning
The poet William Wordsworth once wrote, "The world is too much with us." If this was true in the bucolic 18th and 19th centuries when Wordsworth lived, it is even more true today, when every gadget comes with an incomprehensible 100-page instruction manual. Thus, simplifying people's lives with your products and services is a surefire path to business success; it will endear you to your customers ...

A Must Read for every Designer
As a human being we think we know other people and how they see and use products. This book tells many amusing anecdotes about products that were not successful because the designer made the things is a way he would have liked and not in the way real users use it. The book is written full of humor and with real passion for the subject.

latest developements in designs for information known as infotechture
Pie charts, line graphs, and diagrams are typical kinds of tools to visualize data to grasp what it is indicating and to utilize it. The exponential increase with computers in collecting, storing, and processing data has resulted in a tremendous volume of data. This data is useless unless it is put into some form such as a chart or graph giving some perspective on it. Information designers--what ...

A solid book for type - with a twinge of humor
I like this book a great deal. The next time I have a chance to use this in a class (to teach) I will. There are lots of good examples, the language is clear, and it's not too ethereal or esoteric. I think it's a great introduction to typography and laid out very well.

I received the book digital Wedding Photography in less than a week and I am so very impressed. Took me three days to finish reading, but so worth it. It had more information than I expected and I will refer back to it many times, because I won't be able to retain it all. Would like to meet the author in person some time and didn't know he lives in the same town as me. I want to learn so much ...

A must buy for all DC Comics fans!
I like this even more than the Marvel Vault, which came out last year. The DC Vault has better content as far as the history of DC is concerned, starting with More Fun comics and leading up to recent history. Martin Pasko, who many longtime DC fans will remember as a key writer during the 1970s, wrote the text that accompanies the multitude of pictures and collectibles. He includes numerous ...

Excellent art from an excellent artist
There's no better way to appreciate an artist's work then by learning how they created their art. This book is no exception. If you're a fan of Doug Chiang's art and his masterpieces such as the "Robota" book, then you will definitely enjoy this book. Finding inspiration for our own art can be an arduous task in and of itself. This book by Doug Chiang will definitely help as well as allow you to ...

Sagmeister Always Rocks
Like his first book, this one is filled with clever design details and insights into his process. Unlike the typical designer, Sagmeister speaks of his process in terms that more are akin to self-improvement and self-analysis and than technique, giving us plebians insight into how the master works. A must for any design oficionado.

Very thorough with great examples
I used this book for a graphic design course that I'm taking and it was very informative as well as thorough. It was interesting to read about all of the brand identities and how logos really affect the way a company is viewed. I like the detail, the graphics and the comparisons for the different logos. This helped me in developing a good design for my project.
