This book changed the way I communicate.
This is the most concise, most clearly written manual on interpersonal communication I've ever come across. It's an easy read, practical and to the point, and endorsed by the likes of Deepak Chopra and Arun Gandhi. The meat of the book is the suggestions it's making about how to best communicate with each other, how to ask for what you need, hear what others need, and evoke compassion and ...

Must-Have Quick Reference
Munter's book is short in length but long on content. I purchased this book as part of an MBA class on Executive Communication, but have found myself referring to it for everything from a quick memo to formal presentations. This would make an excellent gift for new managers or anyone wanting to improve the quality and efficacy of their communication.

Low price, fast shipping, great service!
I bought this book over the weekend and got it on a Wednesday. I love how the expedited shipping is so cheap. The book was very inexpensive as well. It was a used book and I like how they described the exact condition of the book before I bought it so I knew what I was getting. There is also a feature that allowed me to look inside the book virtually.

Pretty amusing and fun - for a college text book
This book uses humor and slang to present the points needed for Human Communication and the classes it is used for. Between using quotes and comics (Calvin & Hobbes, especially), the points come across, as well as a chuckle here and there.

Best Text for Learning Communication Skills
I am an instructor for a local college. I selected the Essntials of Business Communication as the textbook for my Business Communications course after working with it in a previous class. It is the best organized text I have found with step by step instructions for students to readily grasp the techniques used in modern business documents. The book covers e-mails, memos, a variety of business ...

Wonderful reference book
I use this book for my primary text in a Business and Professional Communication class that I teach. The students like how the book is organized; I appreciate the examples that we can use in class for discussion. Beyond that, the AIDA approach to business writing is clear and easy to use once students get the hang of it. My students' major project is to work with an organization in solving a ...

Well worth the money
Somebody complained that this text is overpriced. I like a low price as much as the next person, but this text is well worth the cost! My other communications texts literally put me to sleep trying to slog through them. Not so with this one! It is engaging, easy to read, and entertaining. Em Griffin writes about the theories in ways that stick in your head so that you can keep things ...

As an instructor
I have been teaching Speech Communication for over 17 years. I have taught a few other communication courses. It is not very often that Professors get to brag about a textbook. I recently had an opprtunity to visit one-on-one with the author. He is the "real deal" and so is the book! Long on substance and short on fluff. This is a book the students can truly learn from and one any teacher ...

Absolutely Awesome!
Katherine has put together an excellent org com textbook: well-written, concise and very well organized. From Time-Motion Studies to Maslow to Theory Y, Ms. Miller gets down to the point, uses tremendous examples and gives excellent bibloigraphic information for further study. I took Org. Com. as the first communication class I ever had, and although it was a 400-level course, Kathy's book ...

Great intro text
This book is wonderfully accessible and serves as a great introduction to interpersonal communication and preparation for upper-level coursework on relational communication. I have used this textbook for 4 years at a community college and 2 years at a state university and the students have always rated this textbook very highly. Although they do state that the chapters are a bit long, they feel ...

Communication style requires options
An earlier reviewer decries the liberal leanings of this text. A college introductory course introduces options in skills available for human communication. This text provides students exercises that help identify their current communication style, the answers to the questions then invite discovery and awareness. Once the reader is aware, the opportunity to examine the communication framework ...

The Most Important Thing to Learn in College
Many college students go to school filled with the idea that they will learn the subjects they chose to study. No one tells them that the most important thing in their life is going to be the ability to communicate. Even Einstein with all of his brilliance worked at a low level in the Swiss patent office until he published his famous papers. Study after study shows that after college ...

The best business communication textbook on the market
I've been teaching this course for 20 years, and I've used various editions of this text for the past 15 years. The book is now in its 9th edition, which is the best edition yet. The book is beautifully written, concise, and has a strong scholarly foundation. A look at the reference section at the end of the book shows more than a 1,000 sources the authors used in writing the book. In terms ...
