A fine introductory survey
John Townley's text is one of the leading sources for understanding composite charts. Townley came across this method of analyzing relationships in 1973 when a Mensa-member friend of his mentioned it to him in New York. He proceeded to chase down its origins to understand it better. He discovered that it was not a new technique and that "Dr. Walter Koch (of the house system) apparently knew of it ...

Very good book
This is a very good book to buy if you are interested in composites. It explains in detail the principles behind the fibre reinforced resins, the materials used and the different laminating techniques, from the very basic to the most complex ones. The explanations are written in a language that everyone could understand even if the reader has never heard of composites before reading this book. A ...

Micromechanics of composites
I came across this book while doing research on micromechanics of particulate composites for my PhD work. It is an excellent book for reference. It describes the work of various reseacher in a very simple, straight-forward fashion. Someday I would like to own it but at this point cannot afford the price.

Best value Composite book
G'day, I cannot understand other reviewer's criticisms of this book,- I regard it as my "bible". It is the most imformative & inspiring Composites book I have found,- regardless of cost, (even if the section on Kevlar appears to come direct from the DuPont archives). The reason I found this site was due to a search for a new updated edition,- sadly not to be. I STRONGLY recomend this book ...

Excellent book that teaches application and gives solid how-to example
I've been using Zeke Smith's composites book for several months and it's taught me everything I wanted to know about how to build a kitplane. In addition, in my work as a mechanical engineer, I was assigned as part of a team to design a new delivery van that weighs 50% less than current models. I've relied heavily on this book and the composite techniques it uses to create mock-ups and ...

"Composite Airframe Structures" A must read!
This is an excellent book for layman and expert alike. Lots of manufacturing and tooling information as well as structural analysis data. I used this as the text book for an "Introduction to Composite Tooling" class that I teach. The book was published in China and does have some typos, but other than that, an excellent book!

Composite materials
This is a great reference on composite materials. It details almost everything that a person designing composites would need. It can be a bit bland to read, but it is full of valuable information. The only thing that it may lack is example calculations for the design of composite structures, but the theory is all there.

Good Intro Book on Composites Mfg.
This was a good book on introducing me to composites manufacturing without the technical aspect. Don't buy this book if that is what you are looking for. It is a great starter book for those with little to no technical or engineering training. I have an engineering education but no training in composites and I really enjoyed reading this book as my intro to the subject. Good buy.

Very Practical and Useful Book
It is a very practical book containg material which will be useful to those engaged in the design of tall buildings. The unique thing about this book is the fact Taranath has given details of many important tall buildings, which will guide us before choosing a framework for the new building. He also explains how a structural system can be chosen. It has numerous practical examples. The code ...
Introduction to Composite Products - Design, development and manufacture
K. Potter
Springer
, 1997
This books sets out an approach to the design and development of composite products that will lead to the maximum likelihood of developing commercially successful products, generally in the face of a great deal of uncertainty in most areas of the development process. The book is practically orientated, covering those areas of composite technology most critical to product developments, rather than those of the most theoretical importance, ...

Not much help for hobby application
Most illustrations are from large operations, not much in there for a novice and small projects, very little detail steps. I have a little experience with fiberglassing and repair and hoped this would help me further, but need to find something with more detailed instruction and illustrations.

An excellent bok
This book covers, in great detail, processes used during manufacturing with advanced composites. Based on the airospace industry it is highly precise and so offers a range of standards and guidlines for those with lesser experience and or access to lesser equipment. It has become my bible.

Engineering Mechanics of Composite Materials
The book Engineering Mechanics of Composite Materials by Isaac M. Daniel and Ori Ishai is probably one of the best introduction books for composite analysis. I own several books in composites and so far this is the book I believe is most intuitive. I used this book as undergraduate and I continue to use it today. The book is easy to follow and for the most part provides with the formulation of ...

The book is written in plain language, but is crafted so as to keep a complete explaination of all topics in the book. I found the book easy to read, well explained and written for the average person with ...
The Composite Plates of Audubon?s Birds of America

Havell was instructed to combine images from two separate plates into a single print, commonly known as a "Composite Plate". Only two full sets, along with ...
