Timeshare Condominiums for the Beginner16 reviews
Michael Strauss

Virtualbookworm.com Publishing, 1995

Some good advice...
I have committed to a timeshare presentation (my first!)in the near future and I needed some guidelines as what to expect. Michael Strauss' work Timeshare Condominiums for the Beginner was a rock solid fit for my needs. His straight-forward approach is what I needed to begin to feel comfortable regarding my forthcoming experience. He asks the reader to determine the intended use one has for the ...

Peter M. Dunbar

Book Review
This is a wonderful book. It breakes down the Condominum Act in terms that officers of associations and the owners of individual units can understand. Five stars is even to low to rate how wonderful this book is!

Sylvia Shapiro

St. Martin's Griffin, 2005

It's $13 that you NEED to spend, if you want to buy, bought or are selling an apartment in NY.
Pros of co-op ownership: You can actually afford to own something. You can have a tax write off like normal people. Cons of co-op ownership: Everything else. Enter The New York Co-op Bible. I had it, read it, lost it am now purchasing a second copy after looking high and low for the first one I bought. That should tell you something. I own a co-op in Metro New York. My managing ...

Make Money with Condominiums and Townhouses1 review
Gary W. Eldred

Wiley, 2003

A reasoned voice in the huckster crowd
My review title pretty well sums it up. Eldred presents a well reasoned argument for investing in condos. He provides solid advice on the pertinent subjects, including tenant and association selection. And he does it with an encouraging tone that doesn't digress into pie in the sky hype. I think I'll check out some of his other work.

Condominium9 reviews
John D. Macdonald

Fawcett, 1985

Where it all begins
An awesome look at the reality of what they do to the old people here in Florida. MacDonald essentially indicts our entire society. This novel's more relevant today than ever, MacDonald was truly visionary. These characters are real people and they live here in Florida, except for the hero character, Sam Harrison, who might as well have been named Travis McGee. I haven't read all of Johnny Mac, ...

Tips and Traps When Buying a Condo, co-op, or Townhouse (Tips & Traps)9 reviews
Robert Irwin

McGraw-Hill, 2006

Read this book before you leap into a shared ownership
This book showed me the "red flags" to look for when evaluating a shared ownership developement and helped me to avoid buying into a nightmare. Ohhh, I'm so glad I read this book. I read 4 other books on buying a condo and this book was by far the most practical and answered my questions. The format is easy to read and quickly search. The tips and traps opens your eyes to what you're getting ...

The Board Secretary: Roles and Responsibilities in Community Associations : A Guide for Association ...1 review
Anita Hagerty Schenk, P. Michael Nagel

Community Associations Institute, 2003

Not much bang for the buck here
In a word.... this book is superficial. It should be called a pamphlet, not a book, with only 25 pages and is not worth the list price of $25.00. It is well written but very basic in nature. It took 20 minutes to read and did not include much meat. Use the search capabilities of the Internet and you will learn much more for free than this book gives. I also bought "The Homeowners Association ...

Sylvia Shapiro

St. Martin's Griffin, 1998

THE CO-OP BIBLE: word! the truth is inside!
I recently bought a co-op in Manhattan (July 2001) and before doing so; I went to the bookstores and scanned the shelves for books that I thought would help me out. With so many titles to choose from, how could one know what is worth buying and the rest browsing? I ended up settling down with two books and I can happily recommend "The Co-Op Bible: Everything You Needed to Know About Co-Ops and ...
