Not the best case law Book
The book regrettably is not organized well and brakes the cases up in a fashion that makes them almost impossible to read at times. To truly get a good use of this book you had better have the Lexis Nexis at your finger tips. A brief at the beginning of each case would help greatly.

A horrible casebook - Students, do not buy it! Professors, do not adopt it!
It appears the authors misunderstood the purpose of writing a constitutional law book for first-year law students. The notes are absolutely horrible, citing countless law review articles - as if we have any time to peruse them! - and cases with the barest of facts for context. There is no way to make sense of the notes and the cases cited therein. In the notes sections, important cases don't ...

Your standard Con-law Casebook, but not as beefy as some
I used this text in my first amendment class so I only read pp. 740 ish to the end of the text. For the most part this is your standard Constitutional law text, with few principal cases, and pages after pages of note cases to follow. Unlike most law textbooks, Sullivan does a good job of doing what most law book don't do--she gets to the point and doesn't waste much time getting there. The ...

Cool assessment of the privacy we are losing now
This book is not a novel, yet has been read like one, not only because of a number of seemingly far-fetched privacy horror stories and of sudden realization as to what kind of society we live in; but also of its well-structured narrative that is read with ease and sometimes with mild entertainment. Indeed, Jame B. Rule is a first-rate writer and certainly knows how to deliver key messages to ...

An interesting supplement for a Con Law course
My professor assigned this book as a supplement to a Constitutional Law I course. She assigned only about 4 of the chapters - the ones that matched up with cases we were reading for class - just as a way to provide some background and context for those cases. Since each chapter is written by a different person, the writing style and approach varies from chapter to chapter. I admittedly have ...

Constitutional Government: The American Experience
I first read this book in my American Constitutional Law course in college, and I must say it was a very interesting book to read. The authors did an excellent job of displaying the text material in a clear, concise and easy-to-read format. The book takes you from the early ideological theory of constitutionalism and its history, to an in-depth analysis of the subsequent amendments that affect ...

the future of constitutional law
This book redefined my understanding of the Constitution, and is an amazing textbook. People complain that it is not organized doctrinally like ordinary textbooks, but rather chronologically; however, this organization is essential to the author's point -- namely that constitutional law has undergone major shifts, revisions, and alterations during the course of its development, and that to fully ...

Very readable, extensive look at the Convention proceedings
This book is an exemplary effort at detailing the dynamics of the US Constitution making Convention of 1787 in its debates, alliances, tradeoffs, and decisions concerning the major issues of small vs. large states in the construction of Congress, the interests of the small-farming and commercial North vs. the export-focused plantation system of the South, the nature of the presidency, the ...

Finally, a judge says it!
Because I am so upset at the present Obama administration and Congress and their continual shredding and violation of our country's rule of constitutional law, this is the first of ten books I have purchased and will read this summer. I am perhaps, not your regular reader of legal books. During an earlier five year period, I studied the law as a pro se litigant. As part of my personal legal ...
